What price can be given for a 2006 July unicorn single owner 35k KM's run kick start only bike in Bangalore. I know it depends on the condition , but a rough estimate would be handy.
Frankly, unicorns have a good fetching resale value.
35k km is okay as an unicorn engine lasts atleast twice that many kilometers. Expect to pay around 40000rs which is 50% depreciation of the present market price. But its difficult to see an actually a good condition unicorn ever being sold. The price can be reduced if you see worn tyres, chain and sprockets wear, visible damages, and worn clutch plates.

You wont belive, but for 50k-60k you are getting 1-year-old dazzler and gs150r in secondhand markek. Then, why buy 5-year-old unicorn for 40k that too without selfstart?

I spent the better part of the past 1 hour reading this thread.

I ride an FZ16, and I am mostly happy with the bike. Except for the FE; so I now ride alongside folks on electric scooters i.e at 30 Kph speeds. The bike is just 1.5 years old. I am thinking of buying a new bike because my Tibialis / shin muscles are beginning to hurt (the FZ16's foot pegs are right above the centre stand). I am thinking of the GS150/Unicorn/Bullet that have foot pegs near the gear box. This is something to consider while buying the CBZ Extreme/RTRs/FZs/Hunks which are targeted at the sporty end of the 150cc market.

re. why the GS150 has not caught on, you need to look at my avtaar picture to know why. It is a typical case of product success and marketing failure. One of my acquaintances wanted to start a venture and made an inquiry with Suzuki to open an parts supply store. "Sorry, we have a policy of limiting our authorized dealers to a max of 6 per city" was the response. You only need to look at Hero or Bajaj.

The GS150 is a wonderful bike I might not end up buying because of this reason. My alternatives are the the Unicorn (sigh!) and the Bullet 350 (bigger sigh!!).

          try dazzler,achiever,sz-r,p135,150.
ok,now that's a lame reason for not buying such a wonderful machine.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

If what you do is ride at 30kmph along electric bikes. Bullet is not made for you!! Same applies for GS150R which has higher gear ratios and needs frequent gear changes within city at ur travelling speed. I don't worry much about Suzuki service, although availability of spares and less service center is an issue, the bike is rather good to worry about the trivial issues.

You can try the SZR who know you might just like it coz of its amazing low ratio gears and big seats with dual shift gear peg lever. But the mileage is not good. Its about 45+.

The bike I recommend for you to try is : Yamaha SS125, and Pulsar 135.

Achiever is discontd. and even if not there was no reason to buy it.
Since you have shortened your choice. Do not get deflected by others opinion. Blindly go for GS 150R. Its the most sensible buy for a 150cc. Technologically made and is doing very good numbers and has put Suzuki's sales almost equal to Yamaha in India. If Suzuki obtain no. 5th position next month or next to next probably it would be due to GS 150R. It would not be wrong to say GS 150R is the best 150cc machine priced most reasonablly. Very smooth engine too.

We cannot say Suzuki is doing sales because of GS 150R. Suzuki is making numbers because of Access.

Resale value depends on market sentiments , geography , presence , parts availablity and serviceablity at convience. pulsar / unicorn commands best resale value in certain parts , and pathetic price in different location, i recently sod my 8 year old 95,000 odo boxer ct @ Rs 24,000, purchase price was Rs 36,000/- 8 years ago , but at my native place , here in mumbai i would have no were above Rs 7,500/- .

Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

                            • Hey guys ,
I too own a GS since 5 months and 10 K+ odo , its supremly built quality product , inspite of weight consistant milage 54-57 kpl , safe , comforts best a 2 wheeler can give.premium feel .. etc, etc. its ability to adapt riders style is worth noting , this bike definatly reads owners heart and mind and for that matter pulses and responds , you will love your bike more you spend time on it .weight is advantageous unless parking ,
this bike is slow in pick up but linear in acceleration , and definately fast enough for our roads , 110- 118 kph my try , high way riding is a treat and delight with family , inspite of pillion hight its advantageous as pillon can see front of the road and enjoy the ride like rider does , even uni/cbz/hunk have almost same hights.
Only issue is it doesn't sale like it should be , again market sentiments , comparing with SZ is not a better idea , can compare with Fz/ uni/ karizma/ cbz / rtr

nice calculation , same thing i did while purchasing boxer against splendor with price difference of Rs 12,800/- eight years ago and recently sold at a price HH would be dreaming of. but the guy in the above link is overhyping TVS star city .
