      depends on your needs.

Not quite. It gives a steady ~50kmpl even in city conditions and gives better FE on the highways.

        Thanks Whiteryder.

You began with praising you GS150R and you ended up suggesting CBZ Xtreme. Why so?

Its already March. Is there any concrete news on these 2 news bikes?

Apache 160 giving a steady ~ 50 kmpl is something surprising to hear. I always see the Apache owners zooming past everywhere, and was wondering about the FE.

I own GS from last 4 month and 3600 on odo. 4 months back my shortlisted vehicals are SZ-x and GS. But I finally took GS due to its value for money. It is giving me more than 55KMPL in city and very smooth.

The pillon seat is high in GS but you can test drive GS along with your wife as a pillon, Then took a decission.

          All the best.

All your requirements are fulfilled by the Yamaha SZ-R. The low price of this bike makes it a great value for money proposition.

If you are confident of Yamaha's after sales service, go for it.

I'm sure there are other bikes in the 150cc segment which are overall better than the SZ-R but they all do not qualify your criteria.

So SZ-R it is for you..go book yourself one!

Whatever bike you choose, do get a good quality helmet and other riding gear if possible.

            Happy & safe riding!
Signals which are timed for 50 Kmph are also timed for 100 Kmph :)

SZ-R should do it for you.. May be a bit disappointed by mileage but overall it wont dissappoint you. Yamaha SVC are not that bad either bro, so if not for HH CBZ or Hunk, SZ R suits you well

Thanks all for the valuable inputs.

So SZ-R it is. Test ride is the key now.

I will go and check GS150R, SZ-R and may be Unicorn Dazzler(front & rear discs and Honda engine) too, just as a standby option.

Yamaha Parts are also comparitively cheaper so maintainence won't be an issue... SZ R has the detuned engine of FZ.... mileage obviously can't be compared to brands but performance wise and overall feel of the bike is better.. i would recommend this bike

Yes ajhunk i suggest you xtreme Bcoz in first case you have dropped GSR, then i feel that it is not right to force you to take this bike or that bike.. I say listen to your heart and buy according to your taste.. i didn't ask for anybody's help to buy this GSR it was my personal decision and also my first bike was Suzuki shaolin and it never gave me headache so it prompt me to take this bike and i am happy with my decision...hmm about APACHE RTR 160 the only thing i dont like is it vibrates when you are driving around 50-55 speed though having 5 gears no use.

Go for GSR..Excellent bike and easily gives 50-55 mileage.

I checked all that Honda is offering and found all the bikes to be good enough.

Liked the Unicorn Dazzler, but it looked too flashy to me.

I also queried about CBR 250R to the dealer and he said it will be available in April for test ride and deliveries will begin in May. On a second thought, CBR 250R is an extremely tempting choice. Ofcourse, one should forget FE and just enjoy the ride. Not sure right now, might fall prey to the CBR 250R.

                        Keeping fingers crossed.

CBR is surely tempting.....driving a GS for nearly 1 and half year now.......successfully completed a saddlesore 1k on it, its a awesome bike....but a word of CAUTION: Go for Gs only if you like Riding on Highways......in city its a bit strenous for my dad(because of his height)....considering your height it wont be a problem.....and yes the pillion seat is not bit but very high i often get complaints from females......so i tell them to step on saree guard first then mount themselves on the bike.........but it gives the pillion rider a sense of riding something BIIIG....

                            Thanks Maestro.

I agree with you. GS is not really suitable for me since my requirement is ONLY city riding. I have my car for highways.

Regarding CBR 250R, damn Honda. They are asking for 50% down payment. So that plan is out of the door.

Guess I am left with only SZ-R for now.

I own SZ R and I am a complete newbee in bike. SZ R is very good in city. Low end torque makes it even better in city. I calculated mileage and I am getting decent more than 50 Kmpl of Mileage from my SZ R in normal city condition with riding between 3000 to 4500 RPM, never exceeded 50 kmph. This is after first servicing.

I am happy with my bike, and also to add I did not take test ride of anybike as I did not know how to ride the bike. :P This is my first bike and this is the only bike I rode till date so I cant compare SZ R with anyother bike.

It surely is head turner, people from Rikshaw, Buses keeps staring at my bike :P Many people even asked me about it, how much is the cost? what is the mileage? etc etc

Its all upto you buddy, take a TD and then decide considering your requirement. Dont get a bike just because it is being suggested by our xbhp brothers, you yourself at your own to decide what fits you better.

Keep us updated about your decision and bike.

                              Cheers!

How tall is your father? I am 170cm and liked the saddle height. It is tall like the Twister.
