Is the P220 available without the front fairing which (reportedly) rattles and vibrates at certain speeds (read natural frequency of vibration) ?

If the answer to the above question is yes, I would personally like to go with the P220 owing to the bigger engine which would be certainly a big plus when on the highways. The RTR 180 ABS must be a wonderful machine to ride no doubt, but I believe that the P220 would be more pleasurable to ride on the highways..it depends on what usage you are gonna put the bike to.
yeah.... sure...now 220 is available without that fairing....which similarly looking as my 180 ug4. but it has additional rear disc. now the weight will be reduced than fairing version. it is tagged as 220 S where S stands for STREET FIGHTER. yes, definitely it will be a real STREET FIGHTER. apache is a light weight bike... so it can produce more power compromising in stability...but pulsar has more stability...it is noticeable when just after two legs are settled in foot rest...already i felt this a lot in my 180 ug4...
strictly personal view....may differ from one another..

Apache has more stability than pulsars at higher speeds. My friends have 220F and RTR 180 and at higher speeds the apache feels more planted, while the pulsar 220 wobbles a bit.Just what i felt, may differ from person to person.

but what i am asking is:
will the mileage of the 220 vary with the apache ABS even if both are ridden slowly below 4rpm?
and is there decrease in vibrations in the ABS?
            Biking is in my Blood!!

getting a higher cc bike and riding under 4k rpm its pointless but for ur info the mileage would be better only above 5k rpm

go for rtr 180 abs as you will not like the sitting posture of pulsar (thanx to split seat). it will pain just after 5 to 10 kms of ride. believe me its my personal in hand experience
Don't research too much while purchasing, else you will commit blunder

+100.... the P220 is uncomfortable for long rides....10-20 kms per day may be fine but covering 30-50 kms daily will result in backache problems..

                          RTR
                          Pros
cornering, brakeing, flikable and with ABS extra safe.so great for in the city ride.

                          P220
LOOKS,Stable at hi speeds,FI,top speed higer than RTR,i hvn't ridden much, but i find the seating comfortable.

so it depends what parameters you want

Well i would like 2 add watever choice u make . U wont b disapointed

                          my vote is 4 RTR

I doubt that. I found 220/200's most comfortable in the sport segment( second to only Karizma which is too upright.) & split seat helps you to sit with proper posture. RTR is a really a 'menace' no doubt about that but in no way it will give you more comfort that 220. I found it way too cramped/small.

RTR 180 will 'atleast' give you a mileage of 35kmpl.Under sane riding, you can extract mileage of about 42-45kmpl!I would say go for the Menace. It is more bang for the bucks and with the ABS feature, it will be icing on the cake.TVS engines are reliable and build quality is way better than current lot of Pulsars.

Wrong.Seating position on Pulsar is more comfortable than on RTR courtesy the rear set foot rests and low handle bar position. But,you can ride/cruise hours on RTR too. Many people here had done that with no complaints.
