If it must be a Yamaha 150cc in India, then look only at the R15. The technology R15 is loaded with makes you forget about the "attitude problems" the Yamaha family has in India.

PS: I'm thinking of selling my FZ16 and buying either a RTR FI or a R15.
nice to see someone sharing some real truths about FZ16 inspite being a owner himself

Dude, The biggest problem of the FZ is the "cc" ... 160 is not much, is it?

An FZ2 could have competed with ZMA, and could have been nice tourer too ...

But, I don't think all Yamaha dealers are the same ...One of my friend is a Yamaha dealer, I mentioned it before too ...

Still, I advise you to find solutions rather than replacing the FZ ... Think about it! Horn maybe changed, alternative paints can be done, etc ... You are the Lord of the Street now! Enjoy it!

I would recommend you CBZx/Hunk(my personal fav is CBZx) coz along with STYLE and decent power, they come with HH reliability, and after sales...

RTR is no doubt a better performer, BUt what goes against it, FOR ME, is its after sales and service, my friends who have owned a TVS vehicle say that "1 baar engine baitha to permanently baitha. fir us bike par kharcha karne ka koi fayeda nahin..."

Now i don't know what exactly they mean, but i know that they are saying something against TVS vehicles..

If you are tall then Apache didn't suit you. Why not opt for fz16 or karizma 225 R.

2: TVS Apache RTR-Fi (just cant make up my mind to go for a tvs bike,
god knows why i just dont like the brand tvs)
3: Honda Unicorn ( really reliable and good)
If you really like Unicorn but don't want to go for it again then why don't you try Hunk?? It has same reliability & refinement & has awesome looks. It will be good for touring also as it is very comfortable bike. But don't expect great top speed from it.

But if you can afford ZMA then I think you should not look else where.

I personally would say go for the FZ16, the APache rtr Fi is a really good bike with awesome fuel efficiency but like you, me too don't really like the TVS name...

Regarding the FZ I really like the bike, and its styling and features seal the deal for me !

I test rode Hunk specifically for long distance touring. I didn't find it to be good for touring, because firstly the sitting position is bit sporty and not like Unicorn. Secondly, because of all the plastic muscles, there is hardly any place for tankbag/saddlebag.

I'll suggest you to wait for Suzuki GS150. It seems very logical in the line.

Add a KN airfilter to your uni...
uni is still perhaps the most refined city-tourer 150cc in the country
You will save lots of money and you can use that to buy a ninja when it arrives

The big problem with RTR Fi IMO is going to be availability. You are lucky if any dealer is willing to take your booking....and then the long waiting starts. This is my friend's experience in Chennai 2 months back. Donno if things have changed for better. In some blogs owners even mention the lack of competence in TVS service centres to service FI. So best luck with RTR Fi

Don't you think that the both front and rear tires of fz16 rocks as compared to R15?, fz16 didn't have shorthand handlebar like P220 or P200. I agree. R15 is a small bike and have low build quality. Got some news about problems like rusting in number plate and thin tyres..

Which of these 2 (RTR Fi And FZ 16) is a better handler? The FZ with its wider tyres and monoshock suspension or the RTR with its peppy engine and rear disc ?
