Go buy what you like...but on regret later that's all
Like I keep saying, every bike has its own pros & cons; weigh & understand every point thoroughly, so that you'll never regret the buy, be it Duro or Ducati

    Good luck

You are already a 150cc owner. So the Ooomph factor won't be that great as you are thinking.

Just for cornering R15 is bad reason to go. As you stated you want some bigger bike than go for CBR with out any more doubts. It will keep you happy.Don't worry on ASS,If it would have been that bad than Honda might have not sold so many CBRs on road.
CBR 250 has good power/acceleration and stability too as compared to GS . You will surely feel the Ooomph factor and higher bike feel rather than R15.

Real cornering is on tracks not on roads/streets. The titltness on street and tracks are very different the cornering that an average person does is best with CBR unless untill you get out with Helmet/gloves.elbow guard/knee guard/racing shoes and try to bend to screech few sparks from your knee guard. That would be nice for you to corner as aargee said above.

I am telling this just beciase you already have a 150cc bike, if you had some 100cc or 125cc then i would have surely recommended R15 too.

And my friend this thread is live from Dec 2011 and still no conclusion . Are you waiting for NS200 too?? or some more bigger bike like HD or GT650/Ninja 650??

Are our brothers that Bad on reply or suggestion that we weren't up to the mark to reply. It's almost 6 months deciding.

No matter, people think for more than 2 yrs whether to buy NINJA 250 or not , one is me.

And USED 3rd hand NINJA is surely a BIG NO !!!

Go for New Ninja if you want Twin brothers powers on street!!

When ever you book do lets us know. what was your final output.

      +1
Yeah man here in my office my colleagues tease me saying I just look at those bikes, but will never buy . Please don't join them.

I was looking for a used ninja from last 2 months. I have the bajaj-probiking guy's no whom I keet bugging for any used Ninjas.
But so far I came across one guy wishing to sell his ninja for 3.1 lac. and few other bikes in differenet outside Karnataka. This GT250R also added some months in my wait.

        B.GT250R (price not clear)
C.R15 V2 (least powered but with great appeal and super handler) or CBR250R (somehow the VFRish look doesn't impress me and CBR150 color tons are better I feel)

So now I am in Plan A

Most welcome to correct me If you differ.
I am very tensed now you are planning very different segments/cost bikes in a list.

Ninja is far different then CBR or R15 Sir!

A person interested in Ninja, how can he buy a CBR or R15. If he does then next time a Ninja passes by, will regret of buying CBR or R15.

Don't take me wrong. No one here is buying Ninja just becuase of Kawasaki or looks. All knows it's the best high end speed bike with super ability on streets and tracks with super kool handling.

Now you are towards speed Dude!

If Ninja is in your mind wait as you waited approx 6 months till now and buy a new one, you won't regret!!

People here are waiting for years for RE CL350, so i guess you can too.

But Ninja is very costly and maintenance is costly too.

        think all sides.

Sincere suggestion don't buy any bike apart from ninja. You are inclined towards speed/handling=Ninja

              • Dude,

Since you are dragging the Comet into discussion, wait for the launch. If when launched you can afford it go for it. But if you are going to be among the first lot, you will be facing some niggles, since you are using the bike only on weekends may be u can live with it. Because once it is released only then we ll know about the spares availability, after sales service and stuf like that. According to Payeng, he says it is not a city rider and good on highways. It matches with your requirement.

As far as Ninja is concerned , I think you are going for a used Ninja because of budget constraints If you have adequate budget go for a new Ninja. Personally I am not inclined for a second hand bike. Remember Ninja spares are very costly and more often than not second hand bikes require some visits to the service station.

And CBR looks are personal but if you want to have a feel go for a test ride. See whether you love it and then take a decision. It is the most practical and VFM of all the quarter liter bikes available in India.

R15 - I don see it as an upgrade for you right now
                CBR250R |
                Bajaj Pulsar 180 - dts i |
                Bajaj CT 100

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

It was not that far on the map.

Anyway I can wait for 8 more days.
I think, parts of GT250R also will cost more, as it shares parts with bigger brother.

                      • Finally booked R15 50th anniverssary edition today(on my b'day) :-).
Bike will be available on next wednesday. Actually bike is available in the showroom, I asked for wednesday delivery.

Went for R15, coz I liked it's riding position more than Duke and CBR, which I test rode.
Man o man , what a looker it is, only behind ninja under my budget...

                        Will post pics soon..

                        • @ vivek_k_p. Good choice.. Even i got my 50th annv edition bike some 3 weeks back.. Loving each day riding it.

Its not right is comparing a 250cc bike with a 150cc bike. Of course you are getting the extra 100cc + the horses for it. So no point in comparing..

But the r15 is so good that, ppl even compare it with the 250cc bike.. So that's standard, to you CBR guys... :P :P :P :P (no offense )

                            • Congrats. R15 is the best choice. The riding position is best in R15 to get the feel of sports bike. Enjoy the moments. For 1000kms dont rip it can affect the mileage.
