I really like the R15 for it's looks,But CBR is not far behind.
Which bike is more fun riding?
Can someone who ridden both bikes tell me how CBR fares in corners in camparison to R15? (sclae of 1 to 10 would be great)

I am okie with R15's seating. Heard lot about CBR's high profile rear tyre a spoilsport in corners.
But if CBR performs not equally but atleast well against R15, I can give it a thought.
I have ridden my friends R15 V1, but not V2.
Soon I will be getting a test ride. Till then I can get some inputs from you all.

    Thanks
    Vivek
Excuse me but this comparison is totally vague as both the bikes have different attributes.

If you ask me the CBR is much more powerful and torquier machine than the R15. There is just no comparison. It is full 4 secs quicker in the run till 100km/hr(wrt numbers perspective).

If handling is your prime requirement, then R15 has an edge owing to its spot-on dynamics.

But still i dont think both these bikes should be brought into comparison as both are as different as chalk and cheese.

You are right bro, But these are the 2 bikes with fairing which falls under my budget, hence the comparison.
But if some one selling Ninja250R in Bangalore around 2 lacs, I can happily extend my budget.

Still waiting for how both bikes fares in corners (in sclae of 1 to 10)

          • Guys Guys,
            Need a help.
There is one guy willing to sell his ninja(black) 2010 model.
Stock bike with tank pad and insurance valid till 2013.
He is already third owner, but not yet transferred bike to his name from the previous guy.
Quoting a price 2.25 lac, that too not negotiable. what you say??
I am going to see the bike on Saturday. what and all need to be checked?

Why people see cornering always?? I own a R15 from past 19 months and very happy, but power/speed and cornering are different aspects.
              Decide what you want???

You have written in all your post always cornering..... how much cornering would you do daily?? How fast would you ride daily my friend, where would you get a good turn to corner or race? These all are rare items to be done once in a while in a ride in a week or month.

CBR is best buy today paying 1.3L for 150cc is not advisable where as you can go 1.66L for 250cc. Bigger engine does matter every where when you ride it in city/Highway or crusing or tour it. But still depends on own opinions!

INMO I find R15 way ahead in handling on roads than CBR, no offense. I have ridden CBR to Nashik too many times but still R15 handling is more better to me but this is again my own taste.

As you mentioned my friend looks of both bikes are approx same to you. So go with CBR anytime. If you are Yamaha Fan? or R15 looks Fan then go with R15, it won't dissapoint point you. Now even There is CBR 150 check that too. Thumbs Up and buy one soon!!!

+Million!!! While taking the curve, it would be a nice surprise package to see some moronic cyclist riding in wrong way & severs at last moment, challenging our cornering ability

If I were you, I'd see more...
                  - Distance between Ninja ASC & house
                  - If I'd be able to afford for the price of spares + how much of Km would I clock every month & most importantly...if N250R is going to be a daily workhorse or a weekend burst; and how much Km to munch every month. Because...buying is an one time affair, but maintenance is for lifetime. And we spend more money on maintenance than the cost of the vehicle itself.

                    Absolutely right said!

Ninja is best in india, but it's maintenance is much more on other side. Buying anything more than 1.5L bike, service center should be near.

@Lovish: As you ride GS150R so you must be using it for daily.
But i don't think Ninja would be a right choice in that term !!

Ninja Don't give average anywhere near to GS150 !!! mind it
Your fuel expense will rise better than your growing mind!!

Ninja is good for weekend rides and if you fit and strong then touring is superb on Ninja.

But still, Why a third hand bike???

Friend Ninja is good but would make you cry if bike has some sever issues then. Ninja is best in it's quality so cost would be too best!! Any ninja owner can explain this more better than us!

If you are still interested in buing this ninja then please take a Ninja owner wiht you. Becuase you might don't know how should engine react when it's full open, how should it sound?? how is the manevour ?? howz the radiator??,etc.

You are a GS150 owner and don't have any experience of Ninja bike behaviour.

The question is 2010 model and already gone through 3 hands ??? very very strange

apart from this Cost is too much 2.25L for 3rd hand bike??? new comes to 3.2lacs. then 2010 model with 3 owners it should cost you approx 1L if bike is good. 1Lac is not a small amount eiher.

think wisely before you buy it.

                    • @vivek - bro . . Why you are considering a fourth hand ninja ? Just try a cbr test ride . I have ridden my friends r15 v1 and my cousin's cbr 250 . Of course cbr doesn't hold the line in corners , it takes a little bit effort. It aint sharp as well but you will get used to it . A good set of sticky tires and stiffer front suspension may help you to make it better in corners. . But trust me , after riding the cbr i totally forgot the r15 . It is the Torque that gives me more fun ( jus my opinion ) . From low end to mid range , it is damn fun especially in city riding.

Go for r15 if you are only considering the superb handling and looks .

                          @ Somen,
When I bought my GS, I was new to biking and very much concerned about mileage. Also had to listen to brother, he was against me taking anything above 150CC. But now things got changed , I am little matured in riding. Can afford little bigger bike now.

Its not about riding sane, relaxed, peace...its about buying a bike for the craze of cornering, unless you're taking it to track every now & then.

                              @aargee, I do not disagree,
I am looking for a bike which can easily cruise in the speeds of 120+. I would like to do long rides on it. Hoping to learn the above given skills in my new bike and I may take it to the track sometime if possible. For me looks also important and nothing can beat lime ninja under 250 category, except GT. But 5 gears , air cooled engine , lesser power and additional weight bought GT back second in my list.

                              Here is my plan
A.Used ninja lime green in good condition for around 2-2.3 lacs
                              B.GT250R (price not clear)
C.R15 V2 (least powered but with great appeal and super handler) or CBR250R (somehow the VFRish look doesn't impress me and CBR150 color tons are better I feel)

So now I am in Plan A

Most welcome to correct me If you differ.

Friend riding GS for 3 yrs that is big time too, how much difference would you see in terms of power and acceleration compared to R15??

You are already a 150cc owner. So the Ooomph factor won't be that great as you are thinking.

Just for cornering R15 is bad reason to go. As you stated you want some bigger bike than go for CBR with out any more doubts. It will keep you happy.Don't worry on ASS,If it would have been that bad than Honda might have not sold so many CBRs on road.
CBR 250 has good power/acceleration and stability too as compared to GS . You will surely feel the Ooomph factor and higher bike feel rather than R15.

Real cornering is on tracks not on roads/streets. The titltness on street and tracks are very different the cornering that an average person does is best with CBR unless untill you get out with Helmet/gloves.elbow guard/knee guard/racing shoes and try to bend to screech few sparks from your knee guard. That would be nice for you to corner as aargee said above.

I am telling this just beciase you already have a 150cc bike, if you had some 100cc or 125cc then i would have surely recommended R15 too.

And my friend this thread is live from Dec 2011 and still no conclusion . Are you waiting for NS200 too?? or some more bigger bike like HD or GT650/Ninja 650??

Are our brothers that Bad on reply or suggestion that we weren't up to the mark to reply. It's almost 6 months deciding.

No matter, people think for more than 2 yrs whether to buy NINJA 250 or not , one is me.

And USED 3rd hand NINJA is surely a BIG NO !!!

Go for New Ninja if you want Twin brothers powers on street!!

When ever you book do lets us know. what was your final output.
