    @OP

Even if he sells that bike for free, budget atleast a lakh for a proper restoration. My 135 built costed Rs.30k in spares alone and we are talking about RD here! Most parts will have to be imported from US.

Personally, I wouldn't go near it or for that matter any other RD. There is just too much committment involved in terms of money, time & also needing to have right contacts. Please make an informed decision. Restoring it in 20k LoL

Ok, sorry if i'm wrong. But how much would it cost? Max 1 lakh for the whole restoration? Still he can make some profit.

i don't think he is buying it for making profit.

for threadstarter ,i strongly suggest to do your calculations before buying.have minimum budget of 70 k ready.spares are costly, hardly available, you have to get it shipped here, man those cylinder piston costs bomb.

having said that ,rd is collector's item for sure.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Crap!!! One should get the spares first!!!

Just to let you guys know, Nitin has experience in restoring 2 Rx right from ground & Sriram is in the process of restoring his second Rx, dual_disc has restored his Rx to mint & PSR Ji is living encyclopedia for automobiles; and these guys have been doing the restoration for more than 2-3 years. Its easy to give free advice in front of a computer to simply say YES without knowing anything, but, it really takes more than maturity & experience to think right through brain & say something, that may sometimes unpleasant to hear, but that's TRUTH!!!

Though the comments "No heart related problems", "Insomnia", "zombie" might sound funny, they have a very indepth meaning; unless those pains have been undergone, it is difficult to say something like that.

ABiker@Heart - This is my last say on this thread & all of us have suggested for your own benefit. Like I said before, if you worship the RD350, yes, go for it preparing yourself on what we've said; otherwise, there're better 4jokes than RD (yes, better bikes) in today's extinct 2S era!!!

PSR Ji - ROFL!!! You've added icing to Sri's cake!!!

Edit - Just had a thought; if buying a RD is about 20-30K & restoration costs another 20-30K, why would the selling price be close to 1.5L? Or worst case, if it were that easy to make money on this, then why isn't everyone doing it? Give it a thought!!!

Spending not just money but the pain to get the parts and detail to the restoration, sleepless night, all that will just mean to one thing. It will become a part of you. You cant tag a price to it. It will be a Priceless possession indeed.

So if he wants to sell it later, I recommend not to buy it in the first case!

yes sir, i'm a newbie but i didn't mean to say "buy restore and sell the bike immediately". That wouldn't make sense. I meant if he can spend that much of money and take some trouble it's definately worth getting and if he's willing to sell it later on, then it won't be a loss for him but can make some profit.

True Aargee, a well maintained Coimbatore registered, single owner RD 350 HT belonging to a friend of mine, still running on std. barrels & standard pin crank is being asked for 2.5 Lkhs & he's not willing to sell it. Although i encountered a couple of Rd's for 30k or so in running condition, denied the deal as owning an RD is more of a pocket drilling commitment than a passion according to me
