  • What bike should i buy..?????

This is going to be my first bike. im planning to buy bike under 63000/-(max budget).I saw honda shine ,hero glamour, passion pro & X-pro,bajaj disicover st125 and TVS Pheonex. Out of all there bikes honda shine seems weightles compared to hero, tvs and bajaj are not bike that friends usually recomend to buy..since its may be good for 2-3years max.So not picking from TVS or bajaj.MY LAST OPTION IS HERO GLAMOUR ,PASSION PRO Or x-pro.Out Of this GLamour suits bettersince im not thin.
IS MY OPTION A GOOD ONE OR ISHOULD GO FOR ANY OTHER.
    daily need to travel 45km
    need riding comfort

    Topic Approved.

Firstly, you should not go by friends' recommendations. They only say what they hear. I have a Bajaj for 6 years now with no big problems. Other members also have TVS bikes.

Honda Shine can be a good option. Its known for its city level acceleration and mileage too. Discover 125 ST has a rear Mono-shock that will give you a Chassis related advantage of better comfort.

I think you should try test riding both Shine and Discover 125 ST... and then think about which is more comfortable for you.
45 kms daily is somewhat moderate to heavy usage. You need to focus on comfort, although both machines will be able to give you good mileage, so don't worry there.

NOTE: Please wait for 2-3 days. Bajaj is also releasing a 100cc that has good technology. I believe that it will launch on 7th Jan 2013. Tomorrow.

completely agree with samarth, shine or discover st125, or else wait and see bajaj's new upcoming bike.

Note: both me and samarth have bajaj bikes i.e. pulsars... he he he... but seriously .... mine was purchased in Dec 2006 and has crossed more than 1.25 lakh kms.

TVS phoenix is a premium bike. Lots of research has gone into making it an able commuter. The fact that you're leaving out the two best commuters : the 125st and the phoenix is not wise.

Bajaj has proven itself over and over again. I dunno what more you people want it do... Pull a rabbit out of a hat? Please consider the 125st. It's the best commuter.

TVS is way behind bajaj but the bikes in its stable are good. The phoenix is a beautiful vehicle. I did a test ride. I found it very light and comfortable. The hazard lights are truly a delight to have. Suspensions are also premium.

Not saying the hero or Honda bikes aren't upto mark. But bajaj has long since beaten them afaik.

I see lot's of Bajaj haters everywhere, human behaviour I would say, Bajaj is big success & one of the most reliable bike in Indian market today.

I found that every vehicle has it's own advantage & features, there is nothing like Best vehicle for me now, when I tried TVS Jive (Auto-Clutch) it generates good torque & give's you immense pleasaure to ride in City. Bajaj Discover is another example of the comfirtness with aggression (and Mono shock on rear side) & god Phoenix is another good example of engineering from TVS.

Honda shine lacks 5th gear! else it's a nice bike

Have you checked Ignitor from HERO ?? Even that is nice and best. And I think comes under 65k, but do check up and has wide spread Hero SVCs.

TD hero ignitor and the passion x-pro. They both are tthe best bikes in the hero stable with cool looks, styling and comfort and life. Along with hero, TD honda shine and the yuga. From tvs, though the advertising of pheonix started only recently, its a pretty good bike and also the console is the best among the <150cc class bikes in indian market according to me. TD it once and see if it is comfortable. Personally i do not like the discover and looking at your starting post i'd avoid talking about it. Other owners of discover can shed light on its mileage, avg, etc, etc

Also consider yamaha SZ version, they are also within your budget and are 150 CC so you might get better performace, just an opinion.

This would worth a read. According to this shootout, the Discover 125ST is way behind the rivals in the mileage dept. due to its near to 150cc power figures!
