It will not be. Note that gt have 535 cc motor which is different from other 500 REs.

I am not sure whether the Pirellis on gt are tubed. I think otherwise.

Spending more than 2lakh INR only for the vintage looks on RE Continental GT will be waste of money. Neither the motorcycle have high top speed, neither acceleration nor good fuel economy.

When your heart says this. You need not consider RE. Because RE demands a lot of patience, love and time while it returns something that is not understandable or agreeable to all. But for some its understandable, RE is for them. Even I am not a big fan of RE, will not buy it as my first or second bike. But I still love it for what it got. I can understand, its not for every one.

Your focus should be on sport bikes I guess, as you are looking for top speed and acceleration. RE out of list.

One doesn't spend 2L on a bike for economy.
It does 140+, which is good enough for a 535cc motor making <30 hp.
Since you haven't ridden an Enfield, you say it's slow. Load a 100 kg pillion + saddlebags + tank bag and see who wins? Jap bikes or RE.
          Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Yes RE Continental GT is now out of my list. I will but my 350 Bull at the age of 40+ and ride it forever. For now Style, Speed and Affordable.

                  Re: Best 250CC Bike

Why not a 390 Duke? A KTM service center is opening in Jorhat soon, near the Highway Bajaj SVC. Not much choice in 250cc segment in India right now, CBR250R and GT250R are the main competitors since they are no longer booking Ninja 250R. I'm well aware of the road condition of NE India and would not suggest a Duke as touring bike but since your cousin is a college-goer and wants a "stylish" bike, a Duke would be a good option.
                  I am back!

Still riding my Bajaj Pulsar180. No problem after riding for 2 years 3 month and many adventurous roadtrips with my group "Bikers Of Assam Touring Club" Recently completly http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/tourer/3...-roadtrip.html in a Royal Enfield Classic 350 Now I understand why tourers love Royal Enfield. Yes Enfield rides very comfortably with a 100kg pillion, saddlebags, etc. Just loved thumping sound and the decent torque. Only drawback is that it vibrates when it crosses 80kmph After trying many bikes in last two years now am more confused :-D

As per your listed requirement Honda 250R.

But if you can struck out the faring part than Suzuki Inazuma also meets your all requirement with best in class ride quality for bad road and very comfortable tourer.

Though its dual silencer & big bike looks can compensate for fairing, as it has good road presence.
Drive FAST but not Rough, Drive SAFE But not Slow.

                              Best 200CC Bike in India

I was planning to buy a 250cc bike but the finally I am planning to buy a 200cc bike now

My shortlist are Bajaj Pulsar RS200 or a KTM Duke RC200

KTM RC200 is a real beast in 200 segment, lookong forward for a test ride of Bajaj Pulsar RS200

You will regret riding a RC on bad roads. It is made for tracks and maybe normal city commutes with decent roads. Maybe even touring on nice highways. Pulsar RS series could be relatively more suitable for touring perhaps. If touring is of prime concern, CBR250R is the best bet. Yamaha will cost a bomb. As far as I know, R25 is going to be around 3lacs. TVS BMW will take some time before launch. Maybe worth it if you can wait.
