Best 250CC Bike
One of my cousin wants to buy a 250cc fully faired bike by April 2013. Basically he will use it to go to college etc but he will come on long tour with us twice a year. In Northeast India most of our roads are under construction, rough & hilly. As a college student he wants a low maintainance, a decent mileage yet powerfull bike. He had shortlisted some bikes Kawasaki Ninja 250R, Hyosung GT250R & Honda 250R which one will be the best.my blog www.bindassaxomia.blogspot.com my youtube link www.youtube.com/mprotim my fb id www.facebook.com/bindass.axomiaTags: None

The CBR should be your best bet in this case.Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

if one wants to match his exact requirements , then CBR is best bet.Originally posted by Bindass Axomia View PostOne of my cousin wants to buy a 250cc fully faired bike by April 2013. Ninja is no way easy maintenance and more over the current model might be stopped [not sure]
GTR is good , but its addresses very tiny section of ppl who love true kind of sports riding and aesthetics, bad roads + GTR = lot of wrist pain , although bike is good
currently i am getting 30kmpl on GTR in city and around 34kmpl on highway , ninja is worst in this and CBR is top.

So from the above expert replies I can say him that Honda CBR 250R best for mileage & maintainance free bike. Hyosung GT250R is a super sports bike but only for plain roads.Ninja 250R needs lots of maintainance moreover consumer more fuel.my blog www.bindassaxomia.blogspot.com my youtube link www.youtube.com/mprotim my fb id www.facebook.com/bindass.axomia

Its the best 250cc in the whole world. Going by your description, CBR seems to be the best bet - good safety feature(ABS), good fe as per the engine capacity, low maintainance, cheap parts(specially fairing), linear torque in every RPM which makes it good city commuter as well as stable on highways.Originally posted by Bindass Axomia View PostSo from the above expert replies I can say him that Honda CBR 250R best for mileage & maintainance free bike. Ninja - The best selling 250cc in the world. But in India, here are few downsides - expensive, expensive plastic parts in case of a fall, fe wud be around 25kmpl at best.
GT250R - I don;t own it nor have ridden it, so owners don't take offense if say something wrong. Heard its a high rev bike like R15 which means frequent gearshifts in city but the service in India was not that good. Don't know if it has improved after, DSK has taken over from Garware. Riding position too sporty for a tourer.
My vote would go for Ninja if affordable or else CBR. GT-R out of question.Siddhartha

Hi, 250R will be the best among the names u mentioned. On a second thought, you may take a look at the Duke 200 and match the performance figures with that of CBR here (in case you are ok with itOriginally posted by Bindass Axomia View PostOne of my cousin wants to buy a 250cc fully faired bike by April 2013. Ive done 740kms in one day on a ktm. Speeds maintained were 100-120.You can tour on ktm but comfort zone is 80-100 above which the engine sounds maniac(though i continued 100+).Had extensively test ridden both cbr and ktm before taking the plunge. Ceeber is good, but lacks the fun factor and stiffer springs that a ktm has to offer.Originally posted by Bindass Axomia View PostHow is KTM DUKE200 in highway for long tours. topspeed on ktm is 138 but you would hardly reach it.120 comes up pretty fast though.test ride both and decide.maintenance is around 2k per service.Motorcycling heals, big time...

Yeah we have no option left as someone said that Baby Ninja 250R booking has been closed & will be discontinued. Hyosang GT250R is good for rough road & Tours. KTM DUKE200 is not faired. So one more Honda CBR 250R is coming to our club.my blog www.bindassaxomia.blogspot.com my youtube link www.youtube.com/mprotim my fb id www.facebook.com/bindass.axomia
