  • Requesting for help...!!!

Hello xbh'pians.... i'm new to the community. Please help me in choosing a best bike..... I'm pretty much interested in buying duke 200. but after reading all the problems like oil leak from front forks, white coating chipping off in the rear suspension, engine stalling problem, discoloration on exhaust pipe..... etc etc..... please let me choose the best as the bike is mainly used for city commuting and occasional highway rides... eagerly waiting for your reviews and also gimme deep insights on r15 v2.0 and cbr250 compared to duke 200 ( i know the 3 three bikes cater to 3 diff catagories) but still.....

    thankxx in adv.

@Abhilash.NE, Are you looking to buy either the CBR250R or R15. . ?

http://www.motorbeam.com/ does an exhaustive comparison shootout of the Honda CBR250R, KTM Duke 200 and the Yamaha R15 V2.0. Read the complete text review of...

not a complete review but a small kinda basic things about the comparison between the three bikes. . .

      Let me be more simple,
KTM Duke: Street use and quick bike. . .
      R15: Superb Sports bike. . .
      CBR250R: Comfortable Sports/Tourer, I think it's a best bike among. . .
If you tell us more briefly about things like your budget, your height, and how much you travel daily/weekends etc,. we can guide you still more, . . Most importantly before choosing any bike, read some reviews about it, test ride it once/twice and only then take the bike. . .

      Cheers!!!

        R15V2 or CBR 250??
How can this be a problem ??
        It's self answered....

But if you think on average and comfort which would matter for daily then CBR150 is much better.
Else any time CBR250 in above comparision.

For details go through the ownership thread and ask Q then you will get much better explainations.
Additionally you can be more knowledge which one to buy over our suggestions!!

it's a really good bike. Please bear in mind that even "6 Sigma" quality control at a manufacturing unit fails to ensure flawlessness in 100 out of 100 bikes rolling out of a plant. So in case you get to become that unfortunate guy to buy that flawed bike, call it a sheer bad luck. Duke 200 is actually a killer machine, and it is more of a street bike.

Take a look at the end of the first post in the following thread (few comparison graphs are there)

All three are good for the reason that you have mentioned. Looks like the process of decision making for you is going to be a tough one .

Don't forget that when you choose a bike (or say a Wife ) you need to consider the situation of after-sales support mechanism. How close is the service center from your residence, the cost of a service (after free service days are gone), spare parts availability and cost etc etc

Among the lot that you mentioned, R15 V 2 is of the least capacity but the best on track kind of bike. As it is of 150 cc capacity, you may also expect less weight and relatively better efficiency out of it among the three. And yes, this bike is one gem of a machine.

CBR 250 is of the largest capacity and obviously the most comfortable of the lot (I am not saying that rest have got cramped suspensions ), specially when you are touring a long distance. The pleasure of owning a Honda is obvious. The engine is smooth. Now, as compared to R15, the service cost or the spares cost is sure to be on a higher side.

In case my explanation is still not helping you out , you may go across the following below threads and straight away put your query to ask the owners.

Pal, just work out your choice after you get a satisfying reply from the running owners, do not forget to keep us posted with your purchase. Take care.
