• In a Dilemma

My Dilemma is should I go for second hand cbr250 or Duke 200 or a Bran new Pulsar 200ns Or Wait, which I really unable to do now. I don't know how to convince myself
Cash at hand: 1.2 L
Cant afford new D200 or Cbr 250. also no plans to take Loan for buying a bike

Rides mostly in city

Details about me:
Age:22
Height: 5.75
Weight: 73

Currently owns a 2012 P220 n an CBZ Xtreme
Decided to sell my Xtreme this week. A party is ready to buy it

Planning to go for a bike which must be powerful than my current 220.

I test drove 200ns 3 times. I love how it corners. Love its looks. . But it aint satisfying me. felt like an over-powered Unicorn. When im driving, it Feels like its going slower than my 220, but the speedometer shows the opposite . It must be cuz of refined engine n low sound, but for me its a CON
It LACKS 220's GRUNT, even though NS accelerates faster, its not giving me the POWER feeling like 220 do

Im afraid to go for a 2nd hand Duke. how its engine life? Also there is no showroom in my town. Nearest SVC is 50kms away. But my heart still yearns for Duke or the new upcoming faired pulsar which really looks good in my eyes. Never got the chance to TD CBR250 nor there is any TD bikes in Honda showroom
Also Rc series would be out of my budget

P.S I love faired bikes more than naked ones. Waited for p200ss or p375 for ages. Reached a point where I no longer can wait

So what bike should I choose?
My main needs
1. I need a cornering machine
2. Should be able to Cruise 90-110kmph in highways
3. Mileage: 35kmpl minimum
4. Rider n Pillion comfort

My biggest question: Would I regret if I go for 200ns?

Re: In a Dilemma

i think you should wait because as you mentioned you need a more powerfull machine than your current p220 and you love faired bikes and you didn't like the ns after the test drive i think you should wait and save some more cash and go for cbr 300 its going to launch soon will suit you best....get your self what you love don't compromise other alternatives are r15 and cbr 150 but they are haveing less power than p220 but cbr 150's motor is a rev happy motor so take a test drive of that machine you might like it...

I bet you won't regret. best power 40 odd mileage best cornering machine. Can cruise above 140 on highways. Pickup comes from cc and 220 is more when compared but bhp takes you to top speeds which 220 with 21 bhp may not.Pillion comfort is also satisfactory and it comes in your budget. Later you can also join naked wolves p200 ns group on Facebook and groups on xbhp too and be a part of it and have fun riding.
I have got all this out of my ns... now do you?

huh.. Are you serious?? pick up comes from CC?? top speed comes from bhp?? again

Just to be a part of the some group on FB doesn't mean the person should get a P200NS.. please speak about reality.. going by your suggestion, the Tata nano should have a better pick up than any Indian bike..

coming back to the topic..

bro.. wait for 2014.. sell of your Xtreme and save that money for a couple of more months.. you won't regret.. many people do regret for not waiting and getting the NS when the SS is about to come..

enjoy your P220 til then

Control your hunger being on diet just for another 2 months and you won't regret it..

also join naked wolves p200 ns group on Facebook and groups on xbhp too after that what to do, take a picture of the bike and upload . . ? Seriously you gave me a laughter now. . . Come on mann, NS cruising over 140kph LoL, get your speedo checked. . . 40 odd mileage, not all are getting it, some are getting as low as 30-35. . . Pick up comes from cc ??? from when did that start to happen. . ? Bhp takes you to top speeds. . ? Again How. . ? Seriously take a break, just chill. . . You are saying just like Hero said, 223cc of raw power . . . Use some basic knowledge. . .

1. 40 kpl depends on his riding style, he can get more with better riding. . .
2. Pulsar 200ns top speed indicated as 136kph by Bajaj, may be you might get more or so, cos it's a carb and tuning in carb can give a little boost in power and also increase top end. . .
3. Pick up comes from torque and not cc. . .
4. Bhp doesn't take you to top speed, it's the bike's design, the gear ratios, your body posture, road, wind, etc.,
5. That's the only point I agree with you about pillion comfort. . .
6. What's the use of joining some group in facebook or Xbhp if you don't ride with them. . ?
7. Seriously? the auto expo is nearing, kindly keep your NS there to showcase to all about your NS's capabilities. . .

PS: No trolling just correcting, also I guess you must be a part of Bangalore Naked Wolves. . ?

FYI on highways I have always attained 146 constantly and recently touched 150 without vibes. Without any modifications in Carb.

In city riding I get 40 above mileage. Over speeds on highway I get 32-35.
Anyway even without a group also ppl take pics of bike and upload. I don't understand when I said for joining fb group u should buy p200ns. I just said he can join too as a choice. I don't know what made u laugh.

About CC and torque thing you may be rite but I'll surely Google it as everyone has a different opinion. Don't know whom to trust.

Thank you for our replies

Selling my xtreme tomorrow itself. Was a faithful bike for the last 6 years, never had any problem with it

Im trying my best to wait-wait, pulling my hair and everything.. Don't know how long I can go like this. All those sleep-less nights. Sigh!

Oh GOD of Bikes plz give me some PATIENCE that I'm lacking

Last year same thing happened to me. Bought p220 on march 2012. then voila NS releases in my area on august or sept. I still have that regret that I should have waited. But 220 was a good buy, clocked only 5.8k kms, no problems so far. Mileage of 39-42kmpl

Yo man first read what payeng has written before asking me to read. All that you just mentioned was silly comedy about speedo error. I almost started believing you and wondering how can 100000 rs bike have such a flash. Btw payeng says he reached 149 as knife through the butter. Now will you say he is dumb to write like that about pulsar ns or you accept that you were wrong about speedo error? Come on man think for a second how can payeng not find if it was speedo error?

Really??? Wait,

S.P - Biker Next Door said... Thanks everyone..
@crash, yes 149 kmph but like I said its speedo indicated. Every (read every) desi bike comes with a 10% speedo error.

Find this and read it, that's what he has mentioned speedo error, . .

BTW, I don't speak about something unless I don't know anything about it. . .

It's what I have learnt, I have written, even my friend claimed 149kph on his 200ns back when it was stock but then he too agreed that it was a speedo error, . . As said by @Reneav1987, there are many who boost of touching 148 on their RTR's which no way is true. . . I just gave you a short explanation, hence referred you to that link for you to learn more and better as I said I'm also not 100% perfect in biking, . . So, the option is for you to either learn from what it is given or leave. . . Or else people troll you for sure and most importantly SEE WHAT YOU TEXT, when I speak decently, I expect the same. . . In simple what I learnt is never advice for those don't have the patience to listen. . .

Cheers!!!

Additional: As you are a member of Naked Wolves, ask from some knowledgeable person there about your cc, power, top speed and other shit, I bet there are many knowledgeable persons there. . .

PS: I lose my patience too quick, so either you agree or leave as I said I ain't a biking god here, just a learner. . .

Re: In a Dilemma

Huh... Saw this thread from another post by some member on some other thread.
Ajay.vinod - Pls. be patient. You have a 21 bhp bike n you'd replace it with a 25 bhp bike at max? Its not an upgrade! Save money and wait for the more powerful sibling from BAL.

P.S - NS doesn't cruise on 140 kmph "true" speed. But yes, I have read GS 150R's thread too. People have claimed as high as 139 kmph on a GS, so 200 NS can do 199 kmph speedo indicated and nobody gives a bloody furry crack of any rat's behind to that!
Rakesh Rok and rreneav1987, chill down guys.

lol... I was watching this thread silently right from the approval, felt like jumping in on several occasions but nothing, not one word so far made me react the way divya bhais above line did lol I wonder where you get your one liners from

@TS , looks like you urself are not satisfied with the options you got, the options you like seem far to you at the moment, so save your hard earned money wait for a couple more months and then buy something that you won't regret at a later stage.

If you are comfortable with second hands and if your heart truly craves for the duke, go ahead pick one up , now is the best time as a lot of 200 owners are selling to upgrade to the 390 so it won't be hard finding a low run bike.
