• Bike for 18yr old within 8 lac INR

hello guys a hearty hi to you all
my name is yash dixit from indore m.p. currently in 12th and i drive a black piaggio vespa and used to drive a silver first generation activa and the first generation kinetic honda
at this instance i don't have a bike or 18+ drivers licence
i am not ace at studies either but my parents have placed a challenge in front of me that if i get good score in boards and a good college then i get a car , a bike , a laptop and a phone . the car is finalized the new octavia which will cost my parents about 23lakhs the mobile an htc one the laptop a dell alienware
the only thing which i am unable to finalize is the bike
my budget is up to 8 lakhs and i am stuck at
ducati monster 796
hyosung gv650
harley davidson iron 883 and the super low
ktm duke 390
kawasaki ninja 650

now the priority list
1) must have abs or ill have loads of crashes in future as on my vespa
i bought it a year ago and have taken 4 insurance claims till now
2) kick ass road presence like it must draw attention at any cost
3)fast like 0-100 in 6 seconds and a maintainable top speed up to 180
4)ground clearance for some who might not know indore's roads are not exactly what you would call smooth they are not even what you call roads
5)it should be comfortable on long rides as i am planning to do a lot of those

now the twist with the bikes
i only have ridden one bike extensively for 2 months in my life
a cbr 250r abs
quite liked it
it is owned by a relative of mine and when he went out of town he gave the keys to my parents and i got to ride the bike
now what i like and what i dont like about it(in comparisen to the vespa the first generation activa and the first generation kinetic honda)
pros
fast
looked cool (sort of )
good GC
cheap parts
nice headlamps

cons
after hardcore riding the gearbox would get stuck in any gear and wont select any other gear
and if the engine stalled after hard core riding the engine wont start back up again created quite a scene when riding back home after a ride and turning the engine off at a light
after riding it my wrists would hurt a bit
specially the left one

now the twist with the bikes i am set to buy
i have test ridden all the bikes except for the harleys because the sales person didnt allow , even when i got the owner my uncle to call him as i didnt have a valid drivers licence
and the ducati as there is no showroom in indore

1 ktm duke 390
=pros
-value for money
-performance
-menacing looks
-awesome brakes
-tires
-you get 44 bhp for that money is simply awesome

=cons
-i have budget of 8 lakhs buying a 1.8 lakh bike wont give me the satisfaction
-headlight sucks
-engine is to small for my satisfaction

still i love this bike and would have definately bought it if the budget was bit lower

2 kawasaki ninja (my family hates korean chnese and japanese products my family doesnt have any cars like honda suzuki toyota etc because we think the make a fool out of you by just providing the stuff that competion has not the stuff which they can provide
ex toyota fortuner
my neighbor has one
drum rakes at the rear
the hell total loot)
so this bike will only be chosen if it has something extra to offer
=pros
-comfy
-long distance rides made easy
-looks good

=cons
-spongy brakes
- weak headlight
-engine not on performer side but more of comfy and cruising side

3 hyosung gv 650
=pros
- drop dead looks
-engine is punchy loads of torque
- gc

=cons
-name hyosung no one knows it here
-engine heat loads of it while test ride
-quality of parts
-no abs even as optional

4 ducati 796 monster
=pros
-its name
- italian
-its a ducati
-looks
-engine
-fast

=cons
-no showroom in indore
-service is rubbish as ive heard and bloody expensive
-not reliable
-availability of spares

5 harleys new showroom just opened up in indore by the name of tiger harey
didnt let me test ride any bike
=pros
-looks
-its a harley
-road presence
-build quality

=cons
-GC JUST BLOODY 10 CM OF IT HAVE THEY GONE MAD
-883cc engine but the bloody gv650s 650 cc engine produces more power and torque as on there websiteSpecs Comparison - Harley Davidson SuperLow Standard vs Harley Davidson Iron 883 Standard vs Hyosung Aquila Pro650 Standard
-availability of spares

guys please help me
having sleepless nights thinking about this
thanks

You really need to educate yourself and grow up before you end up being a liabililty to society at large.
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Before answering anything, where are the gears, at least the helmet. . ? I can see no pic of an helmet so asking. . .

Just looking at your priorities, I have a sincere request to your parents, NEVER GET YOU A BIKE. . . Seeing your crash history on a Vespa, you can't expect the small scratches that you had on that, it's live or die with these bikes. . . First learn to ride properly, safely and use gears, at least helmet so that the next time you crash, the effect shouldn't be higher. . . As @The Monk mentioned above, grow up, learn your responsibilities before you get hands on a monster, crashing in one of these at that speeds, will not guarantee your life, so better stick with something low and learn to safe ride first and then take on the big boy. . .

PS: Sorry Mods for being kinda rude but looking at this guy's words and pics, I couldn't help it. . .

Request to MODS: @The Monk, please close this thread as it seems inappropriate and also we don't want to be a part of it and looking at his condition, it's best that we don't suggest anything and get him into trouble, so best lock the thread. . . We need someone who knows his responsibility, not someone like this. . . Thank you. . .

Cheers!!!

Well, every one has already pitched in with valid pointers. I only wonder what will the Octavia have to go through if you don't mature as a road user!
4 insurance claims in 1 year speaks a lot about your road mannerisms.
@The Monk, please remove the lid less burn out pic at least.

P.S - for a guy who has been riding a 7PS scooter to talk of 180 kmph speeds and 44 hp/2L not giving satisfaction is a bit immature.

All the best for your exams and may god be with you.

Yup that's true bro, we can just guide him but to take that or leave it, is left to him. . . I see many here too, most of them owning R1, hayabusa, etc., almost most of the time they ride lidless with just a t-shirt, jeans and shoes, nothing to prevent their body if they fall, the best of all, saw a guy riding a Ducati Diavel wearing a Vega off-road helmet , people really need to grow up, . . According to me, it's the parents who are to be blamed in the first place, they are so rich and they give their kids whatever they ask for, they don't realize the need for safety. . . Just like this, many have died in superbikes, and one of them was my friend's cousin who met with an accident, he and his friend both spot out , that's the reason I requested the mod to remove or close this thread, so that we don't give him some options and be a part of any disaster (touchwood), first let this guy learn to ride properly with gears and then we can help him in anyway possible. . . That's it. . .

For the TS: RIDE SAFE, RIDE SAFE AND RIDE SAFE. . .

Cheers!!!

One more thing did you observe in the pic guys, the bike doesn't have a number plate both in the front as well as the rear. . .

Hello, Mr. Uday Chopra ( yashdixit97 , part 2). Welcome to xBhp!
I am not insulting you with that name but here in our community, we refer any gear-less rider with that specimen. And you have been shameless enough to post your lidless pics and earn the credit.

On a more serious note,
1. please get your license first - this legally makes you a rider.
2. Buy riding gears prior to your bike purchase - this includes a good helmet, gloves, armored jacket, knee guards and riding boots. Absolutely no compromise!
3. Since you have been allowed to be a member of this community, please spend some time in various sections of relevance and go through different threads; namely/importantly - Helmets, Riding gears in 'Universal threads' section and 'The Art of Safe Riding' section.
4. Spend some quality time reading experiences of experienced riders in different other sections - just because you earned the membership doesn't justify your posts; remember that you can also be banned at any moment starting from this post of yours.
5. Develop a sound traffic conduct and behave - I am pretty sure that you do not own the roads in Indore. Show some respect to the other road-users and others will automatically start respecting you, without even posing lidless, with goggles and the DHOOM crouch!

Once you are done with the above suggestions/advise, maybe xBhpians here will start helping you with your query. Till then, get ready to feel some kicka$$ road presence.
Others can pour in their suggestion as well.

PS - The above post resulted due to an advise by a good friend, or else everyone knows me and my meme attacks

Ya.... I waited several years to get my R15. But the best thing about that is, you'll be the happiest person in the world when you get the key and sit on the bike. Just like kid getting a brand new toy Also you care so much for it

I don't know if this is OT but IMO xbhp first of all should not allow people like these to register. There should be strict forum policies about registering and posting things in the forum.

And to the TS- Whatever advise the other members gave you 'Get It in Your Head'.

Cheers
