Re: looking for an upgrade.
Hey Archer. Sorry for being a wall on my own thread. Caught up at work. As of now I'm having the RTR and I'm fast outgrowing it. It feels cramped and strained. It's an amazing bike.. But..Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostSo madhav766, what is the current ride you have got ..its been a while now...
I am still putting together the money I need for an upgrade. And I'm still very confused. The ninja is a dream. The CBR is in line for an upgrade. The R25 is indefinite. The HX250 is again a mystery. The RC390/Duke390 - that pitiful 10liter tank is just a deal breaker for me (spoilt by my 16liter RTR tank).
So you an see where I stand. [emoji20]Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

Re: looking for an upgrade.
Don't worry Mr.Sreenath ! For a Bike Budget,You can go restore a Good Ol' Car and can fulfil you parents thoughts and by the sametime,Set lotsa eyes over your Car.You can get a Used SS80,Maruti 800 or a Daewoo Matiz and restore them.Matiz is far better in terms of Space,Comfort and Handling. Thanks[My Motorcycle]

Re: looking for an upgrade.
Hi All. A slight bump to this thread.
I've been gone a long time and I've had my options boggle me down like crazy in the time away. I am still riding around on my RTR because I am unable to decide on what bike to buy. As time passes, I've got enough dough stashed away to include the Ninja 300 in this list of bikes. I am currently looking at the Ninja 300, Z250(for which i can't find an ownership thread here! :O ) and the Benelli TNT 300. The RC brothers gave me shoulder pain so they're out.
Any news on the release of the Yamaha R3?Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

Re: looking for an upgrade.
I was in the same boat a few days ago. Out of the blue, parents offered to buy me a bike. With similar physique, was looking for a worthy upgrade from my pulsar 180.
My options were, RS200, Thunderbird 500, Conti GT, Duke twins. Finally, got a Duke 390.
Bottom line is, for a budget of around 2lacs, duke is the best vfm bike. Now, as you said, you have saved up for ninja, go for it. It has similar performance as duke, more comfortable than rc, and a better tank range then both of them. It is totally worth the cost.

The Conti GT is a great bike. I liked it. But it doesn't make me feel like I want to on a bike.Originally posted by anarchy911 View PostI was in the same boat a few days ago. I have not tested the RS200 yet. Is it worth a go? I am not too impressed with how heavy it has come across, nor with the fact that its single channel ABS. Of course, the Ninja doesn't have ABS at all and it really is not known for its braking but the guys over at the Ownership thread seem to be making headway using other brake pads. People might say something is better than nothing about the ABS but I am a little OCD over ABS on both wheels or none at all.
I am keenly waiting for the CBR 300 and the R3 to be launched in India. I hope both live up to the expectations they have managed to create.
Any news on the HX250R? It seems to have disappeared completely!Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

Re: looking for an upgrade.
Haha could have tagged me to keep the thread alive :P
RTR to RS, naah very negligible increase. Dukes are good but if you would have pillion most of the times then get the rear seat cushioned.
Z250 very smooth little rocket I must say, attention grabbing so beware of people who love to play with other's bikes.
Same goes with N300, if ok with it, can you sustain the maintenance cost, if yes, go for it blindly.Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

hahah! Weren't you looking at an upgrade too? I remember you wanting to go for a 600cc bike about a year ago!
Yeah. I think I have the maintenance under hand by now. Its just a matter of months. I am still immensely confused between the three bikes - z250, ninja 300 and TNT 300.
The TNT has virtually nothing to complain about. Except the weight, which it manages beautifully with those twin discs up front!
The Ninja and z250 are definitely in the costlier side and the TNT has an exhaust note that makes me feel like its alive and ready to kill.
I look at all of this and I still am convinced the Ninja is the right one. Mostly accounting for the fairing. I want a faired bike.Don't matter what it is: Touring; Racing; Commuting. All I know is, I belong on the saddle.

Re: looking for an upgrade.
Ya I was, but things took different turn in the past one year. But will get a sub 400cc bike sometime soon.
I have not ridden the TNT so cant say how it is, but yes N300 is hell of a machine. Test ride the bikes and then choose keeping in mind the spare cost and after sales of both. My vote to N300 any day.Fare thee well xBhp, All the best for being the biggest name in corporate world

Oh the amount of times I've test ridden these bikes! If I go back again those showroom people will refuse to entertain me.Originally posted by prateek2210 View PostYa I was, but things took different turn in the past one year. But will get a sub 400cc bike sometime soon.

You should get you hands on a TNT300 or TNT600 soon. My god the bikes are true beauties. They are so comfortable and smooth! The 600 is a bit on the harsher side, but hey, its an inline 4. What do you expect?
