For me the 200 NS feels really good quality and technologically ahead... I was just doubtful about the brand which has been cleared too...I agree that maintaining your bike will make it last forever.

I checked the apache 180 yesterday, it was kinda short for me and felt as if I could get a backache if I do long rides over it... I'll check out the Yamaha R15 and duke 200 today... Thanks once more...

Let me make it simple for you..
If you just want a weekend riding bike which can make you have a wide grin every time you get off the saddle, raise your budget & get a Duke 200..
Pulsar 200NS is just like a calmed down version of Duke, with good handling, performance & ride quality as compared to 220.
200NS is the best bike under 1lakh ₹.
Being a Pulsar 220 owner from last 2 years I can assure you that with proper engine oil & maintenance, 220 is an overall complete package, engine smoothness would not be at par with Duke or 200NS but hey that's what makes it stand aside from the NS & mind you it's still got performance which will add a certain fun factor in your daily commutes!!

Hehehe😁.. I knew I would confuse you more..
For me 220 was the best one as I personally don't like smoother engines...
If you want a smoother engine with better handling go with NS..
If raw aggression is what you want with good looks & comfort go with 220.

in the end it's all about personal expectations from a bike, TD all the bikes than conclude which one suits you better..

Performance and Comfort within 1 lakh!!!!!
1.Pulsar 220: Still the best in option after so many years. Can last upto 1 lac kms if you know how to maintain a bike.
2.Avenger 220: only cruiser this side of 1 lakh. Can last as long as the pulsar.
          3. P200NS: The best Pulsar. Its being a while in the market now. Parts are available easily.
          4. Hero ZMR: A bit pricy and little compromised on performance, but brilliant in comfort.
          5. FZ16: Ok, this one is low on performance, but damn good in comfort and ride in involving.
Drop R15 and RTR, as those are basically for performance enthusiasts and pity low in comfort.

            @ Jitu Badlani

Yes mate u confused me there for sure.. Today in test rode the duke and I understood what this bike is really made of. Its pure aggression and performance... Its not made for me. I'll check on pulsar 220 and NS and finalise. And as "Sambit" mentioned the ZMR... Will look at it too... Thanks

Before taking the final call, you should definitely check out the ZMR.

Re: Confused between performance & comfort..

                1. It would be helpful if you can mention the absolute upper limit of your budget. You mentioned 1L as your budget in OP. But you were ready to check out Duke which costs close to 1.5L. So, please mention your exact budget so that suitable options can be given.

                2. Since you checked out the Duke and found out that it's not what you're looking for, I think more composed bikes like the Karizmas or the NS would be more of your type. FZ is a great bike, but since you're looking for something noticeably more powerful than your CBZ, it can be ruled out. Again, mentioning the max budget would be helpful.

                3. Since you found the RTR to be a back breaker, R15 and CBR150R can be ruled out too.

Are you a performance freak? I think, not. You want a bike which offers a good combo of performance, comfort and reliability. Pulsar 200 and 220 are highly performance oriented bikes and Bajaj doesn't have good svc. I love both the bikes though...For you I can suggest two bikes, which will satisfy you with comfort, reliablity and performance (better than a CBZ). Hero ZMR and Honda CBR150R. Test drive both and check which one you feel better.

CBR 150R is again out of his budget but a wonderful machine. Please talk to Bajaj owners at your place and see if you can find a good mech or if you already have a trusted mech. if you are of the type to hand over the bike to ASC and forget it please dont go for Bajaj. They need proper maintainance to run trouble free.

+1 to this, you will enjoy the low end torque and relaxed cruising on highway. I don't think it will do a 100+, but 80-90 kmph its awesome to cruise and enjoy every bit of riding experience. But, buy only if you have time to maintain it. Good Luck.
Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).

                          Dear DJ,

Looking at your budget of 1Lac I could suggest you to stretch your limit and search the best bike between 1-1.30 Lac. Moreover go for the quality bike which will be complete value for the money. Until this post I could see following was the shortlisting of the bikes.
                          1. Pulsar 200NS (94K INR)
                          2. Pulsar 220
                          3. Apache 180 (84K)
                          4. Karizma 224 ZMR (110 INR)
                          5. R15 (117 INR)
                          6. Fazer (88-90 k)

Gixxer will be launched in July & GSX will be launched in Sep 2014.It seems like Suzuki has launched Gixxer will be certainly a rival to Fz-16. GXR is more stylish and I am sure it will smoke all 150cc bikes in India in terms of looks and performance coz this is genuine inherent machine from GSX1000R.
Have a test drive of all bikes before selecting one a take your best call.
                          Best Luck!!

                              @ Ravi Raj 123..

That was an extensive list you mentioned there... I test rode the ZMR and the ZMA...Loved the feedback on the ZMA and the pulsar 200 NS. I also rode the R15 but would skip it coz I need a better pillion support which the R15 surely lacks.

I guess I have decided for the 200 NS and would stick to it now. Thanks a lot for everyone's help here in guiding me in my decision. Highly appreciate it. Will post pics as soon as I get the delivery. Walking in tomorrow to pay off the money and hoping to get delivery.
