Re: Totally need help...want to buy a new bike

You said that you are not concerned about the numbers (cc, top speed, 0-60).
You also said that you want good mileage and should be speedy, Good "showoff" looks, Long life.
You want the best of all worlds? Oops, its almost impossible

My suggestion is CBR150R because you are going to use the bike thrice in a week in highways that too for 40 kms. If you are not going to use the bike in highways, then go for R15! R15 is too sporty to drive 40 kms in highway and backpain will leave you in your bed!!!
If you are not concerned about mileage, go for Duke 200.
Another suggestion is Bajaj Pulsar 200 NS. It has all the features and a very refined engine. It is extremely VFM.

Test Drive all the bikes you consider and choose the best bike that suits you!!

Re: Totally need help...want to buy a new bike

If you need mileage then ZMR being FI can deliver that even more than your expectation. 40-45 in cities and definitely 45-50 or higher on highways easily.
Coming to looks, they are subjective. Some like it. Some don't.
Performance: The tall visor and the gap in the fairing help in tackling the crosswinds better than the older zmr. Speedy? Well, it is faster than the older gen zmrs looking at the figures..
Maintenance and reliability: Its a hero product so no worries. Reliable all the way. Unlike few specimens out there
I felt your were inclined towards the ZMR and hence gave you a bit info. Browse the ownership threads of both the old and the new models, TD it and decide. Good luck!

ZMR 2014 would be a big bike which may not suit your physic. Try FzS v2.0 Fi if you are not a diehard racer. Its a cool one.

if you want to buy a bike and if you ask for opinions, sure enough you will get loads of it. and of course you too might have certain models that caught your eye.
my advice (and this comes from personal experience):-
*make your own list
*go check each and every bike In Flesh
*test drive every bike
*test drive again if there is still confusion.
*once you narrow down to your choice, then hunt for a showroom that gives you a good deal, (added bonus if it has a well reputed service centre too)

and then go for it!!!
I think its the best option now..thanks buddy!

Or else, ZMR and GS 150 are great bikes and you should test them as well.
From my personal experience, I've found Yamaha ASC better than others(I've not been to a Suzuki showroom - actually finding one is tough in Kolkata). Regular servicing of my SS125 sets me back by around Rs. 550-600. Charge should not me much more for FZ. And the parts in a Yamaha are little costlier than others due to the quality but those last longer as well.
Ok lets wait for fazer and see what it has got!

Dude. Like someone said. Its like choosing your woman. Would you ask for opinions from other guys when choosing your woman? I dont think so (dont test ride them like we test ride bikes )

What I mean to say is.. its gotta be your choice.. you short list the bikes you want.. and teat ride them.. see which feels comfortable for you. What feels comfortable for me might not be comfortable for you.

Like I said I like African Girls (it was just an example) for another person might like Asian girls and another might prefer Spanish girls and someone suggests me to go for a Chinese girl.. will I be happy with my decision listening to what someone said? Or will i be happy marrying an African girl??

I repeat. This is just an example
Bro..you just opened my eyes!

Absolutely! Just keep the revs between 5-6k on highways and be amazed.

If you cruise in 70-80, you may be lucky enough to even get an efficiency higher than 50 as well. I had achieved 52.xx and Divya Sharan has got the maximum among us. 56.xx!

Varied from 70-100 kmph.. a couple of speed runs to check top speed.. topped out 129 kmph at that time

Relaxed <90 kmph ride throughout, early morning in the winter. Mostly 75-85 ish.
