Sorry to say this. I feel thats kinda rude. You dont have to force someone to get something you like or say your arent made for NS. Phrase it in a better manner if you dont mind.

@TS. If that is the case, then look out for GS150R from Suzuki.
Hoodibaba sir owns it and he tours with it all over India.. the bike is a perfect bike for both city and highways.. with the 6th gear being an added advantage. Making it give those extra miles reducing the strain to the engine. Only drawback would be the service network.. I am guessing Suzuki would improve on it.

If you want something a little huge. Then the Gixxer 155 is a good option as well. But FE isnt that great.. but being a suzuki, it has got a butter smooth engine..

Also. If you are ready to wait til this month end, Hero is going to launch their xtreme sports with a more powerful engine from that 150 cc engine.. it would be a good option as well. You get the Hero Service Network wherever you go and their 5 years warranty explains why they are still at the top.
sibun can give you a better explanation..

Am an owner of Hero Honda Hunk from the year 2007.. i fall in loce with the engine every time i rev it..

GS150R is a good bike but I am not very impressed with the looks.

As far as Hero is concerned, I am myself a Hero fan. Have been driving my Super Splendor for the past 7 years and it still performs exceptionally well.
Having said that, I am very disappointed with the looks of Xtreme and it's average reviews. The previous versions of Xtreme were far better in my opinion.

If I were to give a preference other then FZS V2 or Gixxer, it would be Honda Trigger.

Probably I need to get a test drive on the bikes before I can decide on any one.

IMHO, the new extreme also looks good. But Looks as always are subjective.
And in 150cc, you can never go wrong. Its simply out of question. Choose whatever you like.

This is something that everyone advising you on X-BHP will tell you.
Get a test ride before you book anything.
All the views in my opinion are a little biased. It's practically asking a guy if they are in love with the ride they own/like.
and more often than not, test ride will change your perspective. Happened with me(went for 220, bought an NS), happens with many..

ok, if your choice is between the FZS V2 and Gixxer, i would suggest the FZS..

Major reason would be the After Sales Service which Suzuki lacks.. both the bikes are simply perfect but another advantage of the FZS V2 over the Gixxer would be the FI.. better FE, better throttle response, better cold starts. On the other hand, FI is a new technology and in case read in case you get stuck up when on highways, it is going to be difficult to find a mechanic who has knowledge on FI engines..

One thing i love owning ZMR though it is a FI is the service network Hero has. I found so many Service Centers in the middle of nowhere so I know I will have some support if not the best from Hero..

I guess Yamaha is also getting a better service network but with Suzuki.. Game over.. poor after sales service, they don't even care to listen to your issues or complaints..

Looks are subjective and yes, to many eyes the new xtreme looks bad.

How about the RTR 160 or the RTR 180 ? Both looks super cool and the RTR 160 is better in Performance than the FZ.I would highly recommend you to Test-drive both the TVS Brothers,The RTR 180 and RTR 160.

Go for a prolonged ride(if possible, from some garage/bike rental/friend/relative) of the bike you select and then decide. The 150cc segment has a number of good bikes. Choose wisely.

Thanks for all the replies friends.

Based upon your advises, I've decided to wait for a month or so till the Xtreme Sports gets launched.
Meanwhile, I'll also test ride FZ-S V2, Gixxer, Xtreme and Trigger and see which one suits me most in terms of ride comfort and pillion seating. Bajaj and TVS are still a NO NO for me.

Probably, if the FZ-S V2 is very impressive, then I might buy it, otherwise will wait for the Xtreme Sports and then take a decision.

Will keep you guys posted on the progress.

Thanks for all the time and effort for helping me.

So, I am not in favour of getting anything above 150cc as I would not be needing that much power anyways. Rather I would prefer a smooth engine that gives a joyful riding experience.
Since you are looking purely at 150 segment..with a smooth and joyful riding experience...nothing comes close to the FZ FI/ Gixxer. Give a serious look at both these bikes.
Fz comparatively is a bit more sedate...and by that I mean just lacks a bit of top end...whereas the gixxer is faster/sporty very rev happy...ultra smooth and vibe free...but 1 or 2 kmpl less on avg.
Both are closely matched.

I should ask you to take a look at gixxer 155. It looks nice and fresh on road. I saw it I person and it was a looker. Regarding engine suzuki you don't have to worry at all.

Suggest you take rest ride and it fits your budget around 84k on road.

I took a test ride of both FZ V2 and Gixxer.
Both rides were very short.

Ride quality was excellent in both the bikes. The build quality of Yahama seemed slightly better to me.
I am favouring Yahama here because of better service too.

There is one more problem now. My dad suggests me to go for Avenger instead.
I have never ridden cruiser bikes.

Can anyone suggest me if I should be considering it ? Will it be comfortable for city riding and does it feel comfortable for a 5'3" guy ? What about the mileage ?
