    couldn't control any more
went up to 7k rpm twice today. had already been subjecting her to accelerations till 5.5K revs.

    the world seems different at 7K @ 5th gear ~ 110 km/h (indicated)

Yes i know how u feel when u have 225cc and 17 bhp betwwen ur legs.. I too got my new ZMA on 16th of this month and was riding it under 4 km till 630 kms..then had her 1st service done...and i decided not to have anymore run in... i couldnt control myself and even touched 138 kmph on my ride to KUDREMUKH this friday...the way she behaved was just amazing...
I feel that 600 kms or till 1st service, RUN INs are enough...since i had only city riding...the 600 km was good enough..

lol. no. i still think more bedding in of the piston rings is reqd.

from 4K-5K rpms, my ride vibrates a hell a lot even now. and whn i decide to give the 223 cc engine a rest after hour long rides cruising between 70-90 kmph, it gives a strange squeeling sound for a minute till it has cooled down.

Am gonna change my EO @1000 K. just a 100 odd more to go for that. Ride's definitely smoother than before 1st service, but still a lot to be desired in the >4K rpm range... will have to open the engine up gradually.

You're right. It needs to be done gradually.
The squeaking sound, if I'm not wrong is from the silencer.

i've started cruising @ 4.5K - 5.5K revs now... just to ensure the engine's opened up at all ranges. it's better than before but zma still feels rough in that range. i just accelerate to 5.5k or 6k rpm, and leave the throttle to let it drop to 4-4.25K rpm before upshifting.

have done almost 7K rpms now a couple of times a day - on 4th and 5th gears.

certainly feel the bike getting smoother, but a still a long way to go.

and that silencer sound - tick tick sound, comes anyways after a long ride. the squeeking sound i found out was coming from the front disc brake. it has stopped on its own. came just after a one off hour long ride
            --------------------------------

            mileage calculated :
            0 - 300 kms - 31 kmpl.
            300 - 930 kms - 42.5 kmpl. [ and i think from 500-930 (after 1st service) it has given even more than 43-44 kmpl.

so overall 37.8 kmpl - filled in fuel worth 1000 bucks... and got 930 kms from Reserve to Reserve.

much better than expected mileage. almost matches FZ figures i think

Thats good...yesterday I was reading about the Ninja 250's run-in on the Ninja250R forum. It says for the first 500 miles(850kms.approx.), below 4K RPM, then next 500 miles below 6K RPM. Ninja's speed at 4K RPM translates to around 35mph, which is around 57kmph. At 6K RPM it does about 50-55 mph, which is still under 100.
So, I was recollecting how I ran in my R15-1st 1000kms. below 60 (4K RPM), next 1000kms. below 100 (7K RPM). The moment I crossed 2K kms. I took it onto a 4 lane highway&ripped the guts off it though!

Its fantastics. I too had narrowed my choice between Karizma and FZ-16. I like the looks of FZ-16. Fresh and modern. I like Karizma too, looks unassuming with cool confidence, but was leaning more towards FZ-16. But after reading all the inputs. I too have decided to go for the Karizma. The deciding factor was its crusing ability. I will be mostly riding on highway. Hey thanks "raghavishere"! XBHP and all you guys. I will be booking my Karizma tomorrow . I have been driving four wheelers all my life. This will be my first bike ever. Looking forward to learn about two wheelers from you guys.

i din't understand one thing why did u delete pulsar and stunner from ur list...

ok...stunner is 125cc bike...and it has got less power..so agred that u rejected that one..

but why pulsars man??p150 is good for city riding as well as touring.if u r not a cruiser..try p180 or 200 ..itz worth of every penny...

both having muscle power under their tanks...both has got looks enough to turn heads around!!

iam not comparing zma and pulsarmania...coz both r good in their own categories..we can't compare them....but i do oppose.FZ.no doubt itz a stylish byk..got power..but u should also check itz maintainace ,,and after sale services...now adays spares of r15 and fz's are not available easily in the market..but this is not the case with zma and pulsars..

better to have pulsars as an option..

Thanks! I have booked it today . Says delivery will take 10 to 15 days as they did not have black color in stock. They had yellow ones which didn't quiet appeal to me. I understand most people seems to prefer the yellow one.

Consider this. I have booked the Karizma solely based on multiple information/feedbacks from the internet as well as this post. I did not bother to take a test ride . I figured it will not help much as I hardly have two wheeler experience, so I left it to experts (folks here and else where on the internet) and decided to trust their inputs. Sure I can tell a thing or two about four wheelers and a test drive will definitely help, but when it comes to two wheelers I am .

Its going to be the longest 10-15 days

Hey rakeshkn. I thought you were confused about ZMA in your post/topic "220 or ZMA" . Of course my dilemma was between FZ-16 and ZMA and not ZMA and 220. You have decided? I already did. its ZMA

Dude, nothing against Stunner - probably the best 125 cc bike in india, and Pulsars, the trend setters in the 150 cc category. But I'd just ask you to do one thing - test drive zma, fz 16, pulsar 200 and stunner IN that Order. You'll know why I eliminated the latter 2.

Looks wise the best head turner was FZ, performance wise the best was Zma. No point settling for neither of those 2.

Its fantastics. I too had narrowed my choice between Karizma and FZ-16. I like the looks of FZ-16. Fresh and modern. Man, kaynmantis, congrats on deciding on the Zma. It's a really rider friendly bike. And ride it and love for 7-10 days, and you can learn to maneouvre through the toughest of traffic as if it's a CD100 .

And yeah. It DEFINITELY is the ride that chooses its rider.

The colour most in demand is BLACK. and that's is why it's not in stock . That's common knowledge that black/red bikes are most in demand, like silver/white four wheelers.

I love seeing the yellow zma on the road, but would've hated owning one, for some inexplicable reason. Black is sXe ! I love the pulsar/apache shade of Red. Zma red is a touch too flamy
