Go for what your heart says, don't look at all these issues people reporting.

I did the same and went for classic 500 squadron blue, just keep in mind that you have to keep the fuel tank above half so that the fuel pump motor may not get hot and give up.

This question I am always asking my self since past one month. It is not long I have bought a bajaj avanger 150cc street. But want to buy a classic 350cc in next year. Should I go over bajaj and buy this bull. Or leave it. As the one which I am riding at the moment is giving the peace of biking from my last set of purchase. - This alone warrants you to keep riding your current ride.
The Avenger is a low maintenance bike which gives cruiser experience at a reasonable budget. The Classic is NOT a cruiser by any standard, it is a retro street bike. And if you do get the 350, apart from the torquey nature of the motor and the low range punch of it, you wouldn't be upgrading in every aspect form your current ride. Performance would be similar.

I have been keeping a good eyes on the thread of classic 350 but as this thread came up just wanted to put in some words for cross check yes or no.
My friends have classic which has been purchased along with me in January 2016. Well so far as they say they are very happy but when I ride there bikes I am not happy. Then why do you want to buy a bike which you are not happy to ride in the first place?? As there are few things that one's you keep ridding bikes you learn it or experience it a you ride. Like for instance one of my friend who has the bull his tappet was so loose that I could hear it clearly told him to but he says that It is normal. How can that sound be normal. - Believe me, it is normal. The tappets of the new gen UCE motor are hydrolic pushrods assisted which can't be "adjusted" like the older Cast iron Barrel ones. The Harleys use the same setup. Your friend has got used to the sound, like every other UCE motor rider.
I am a bit confused here please guide me as the booking here for a bike waiting period is 4 months. For a silver classic 350cc. Is it actually worth spending 1.75 lcs. The 350cc is close not that costly, if I am not wrong. The With rto and insurance. Please guide. Thanks

Hello to all xbhp members.iam here because last month I booked Royal Enfield standard 350 and would be getting its deliverey around July end .
As before also I was confused between STD and Electra and till date I am as the showroom people don't have STD for test ride so I am not sure of its braking power compared to Electra with disk as I know that i can live without electric starter.
But what I want to know is about the braking power of those drum brakes in STD ,I love STD as compared to Electra as also I have ridden a lot on tbts 350 one of my friend has it but don't like the newer tbts as per the looks.
Finally I want to share your experiences on STD as mostly I would be doing city driving but also would be doing occasionally long tours on it...
Please help I today I went to the showroom they told me to start the payment process so my bike would be delivered around 15 July this month.
Would love to hear all your views for the same .

2 months ago I was in same Dilemma but in a Diff State in India. Here is my experience. The price quoted will be same in all places in your city, be it RE Brand store or a Dealer showroom. But in my case I booked from RE Brand store, i was given a 45 days approx waiting period but the bike was allotted within 3 weeks. The issues started when the Brand store (even after submitting all documents and proofs and filling up the RTA forms correctly) made a blunder in my Name in the Temp RC and then I had to chase them to get it corrected. Towards the end it was me who had to spend time, effort and 1000INR in DD to the RTA for getting name corrected and all in all it added one whole month for a process that could have been completed in a single day had the name been correct originally.

Now, the thing is:-
the Details Were taken by RE Brand store.
The RTA Form which i filled up (correctly) was given to me by the RE Brand store and it was also on their letter headed paper.
The Temp RC formalities were also taken up and completed (at the first iteration) by the RE Brand Store.

And after all this too whenever i approached them for any follow up for this episode, their dialogue used to be "Sir, we are the RE Brand store and not any RE dealer outlet to help you with your RTA work. You have signed a Disclaimer with RE so we are not responsible for RTA stuff."

So i feel if i had approached the Dealer for buying a bike as opposed to the Brand Store, atleast the dealer would have been nice and courteous to us when we needed their help.

Now, as i said this is my personal experience and advise, and that too from a different State. I would suggest to check the response to whichever outlet is closer to you (will help in follow up trips during your documentation/waiting period) and Also check whoever has the best reputed Service centre that you will visit later onwards once you have the bike with you. These are the only two decisive factors i feel.

I am confused between thunderbird 350 and Himalayan. Till the time Himalayan was not on roads, i was sure i am going for thunderbird but Himalayan has made me skeptical.

Secondly, i read a news item that said RE will be upgrading all its older models with its new LS411CC engine. Is this an authentic news ? This has further worsen my dilemma 😉

Himalayan is not a full fledged choice for me as my earlier experience with offroader like impulse is not good. Especially, in rains where water from front tyre shoots right on the legs, also rear tyre water flashes on pillions clothes. Is it the same with Himalayan?

Can you guys guide me?
