    I don't own a GT, but have ridden it, and i should say that it is awkward and unpleasant to ride. Felt a pain that i never felt in any other Motorbike. Wait, i recently felt it on a Z800 too. The arms. The handlebar on both the bikes is a problem.

    A Royal Enfield Classic 500 is one of the best bikes out there for Rs 1.5 Lacs.
    But i know it has breached that mark and is rising... which i don't think is fair, since there hasn't been any significant upgrade in the quality. It's all down to the costs.

    The new Ducati Scrambler, Triumph Street Twin should serve as great motivation for RE. It's high time, don't ya think?!

    My dad's Classic Chrome was parked under the complex. Some idiot has reversed his car into the beast.
    Total damage :
    Bent Crash guard
    Bent side stand
    Saree guard and rear bumper


    The crash guard can be changed FOC (Dad has a spare), the side stand is fixable. The problem is the bumper. It's badly dented.

    Anyone have an idea of how much it costs to replace the rear bumper of a Classic Chrome?

    2. REs are not Fill it Forget it rides. You will absolutely need to give it a daily inspection. But relax, with the newer UCE engines, the troubles are lot lesser than the older generation motors. The point here being, A Stitch in Time saves Nine!

    I did take a ride on TB for about 50KM and I liked it, but havent tried Electra for that long. I dont know its a different feel and comfort on both thats the problem here and this is why Im not able to choose them.
    Yeah I have few things in mind when its Electra mostly to an alloy and biggers tyres and if its gonna be TB I really dont have anything in my mind about modication.

    1. Did you test drive any of these?
    Take a long TD and the choice will be easier based on posture requirements and which one suits you more.

    2. Do you plan on modifying it in future?

    All RE need a lot of TLC. If you are willing to live with the effort, you may opt to buy a RE

    Hey fellas,

    I am Vishal, a 22 yr old single guy with my family dwellings to work on from dawn to dusk. I recently moved back here , so have little to no touch with my school friends or so nor do I know many folks that ride two wheels. I perhaps am looking for something of a weekend experience. maybe a short half day trip on a sunday morning or a late night cruise on a saturday evening, Not more as of now. . .Have had some riding experience but I haven't ridden in over two years but now I WANT a RE Continental GT. I havent yet taken a test ride, but the Looks, the characteristics and the Religion that is being a RE owner has tempted my twig. I have simply sat on the continental GT and it felt like home and this weekend I plan a test ride.

    My question is, am I buying into something that's all glory but no gold? what are takes of long time ContiGT owners? Please share !till then im waiting for the test ride!

    Planning on Eletra or Thunderbird but I just cannot decide on what I shoud go for.

    Choosing a Royal Enfield? Ask here...

    Guys I need you suggestions and recommendations on this: I am getting a 2012 Preloved Classic 500 with 12k on the odo for around 90k. The owner is moving abroad. Since this would be my 1st RE, please suggest the things which I need to check before closing the deal.

    Few friends recommended me to check the following:
    1. Oil leakage in casing and forks
    2. Tyres
    3. Starting and moving the bike in 3rd gear.

    Is there anything else which I should check?

    Go for BULLET 500 then. When it comes to buying bikes, the most important thing is your gut feeling and comfort levels. If you feel happy and more comfortable on the BULLET 500, then, go for her. However, CLASSIC 500 looks stunning in all the colours, especially with the single seat, and she will be slightly quicker in accleration, because of fuel-injection. I test rode the desert storm one month back, and the memories are still fresh in my mind even today. The torque was just amazing and she pulled me like a freaking train. And as contrary to what some people say, even for a test ride vehicle, I found the brakes quite good. So, the new bike will be much better. I wanted to steal the bike right there and then.

    In my opinion, both are equally good. Just follow your heart. Don't forget to post lots of pics of your new bike.

    So, when can we have the pics ?
