Hi Guys I was looking for guidance from the member as i am confused which bike i should buy. I have been riding Yamaha FZS since 2011 its a good bike but i never took it for a tour. I want to start exploring touring options with my new bike. My height is 5.6 and 68 kg and i took test ride of few bikes. I am confused between RE Meteor and Java 42 2.1. I like both the machines. Meteor was so smooth and the power delivery was very responsive to the throttle. Then i rode the Java which was smaller yet it showed a character when i pulled the throttle. i belive i would be more comfortable handiling the java due to the lesser weight and size.

My main aim to buy a new bike is touring,9 i have heard few problems with Java like the stalling issue ground clearance, bad service experience.

I my mind the only problem with Meteor is that is limited capabilities in offroading. I dont want to off road all the times but in some mountain passes the roads are very bad at that time the hard suspension might give me a problem.

please help me decide.

Classic is one of its kind. It sells like a hot cake because its a legendary bike with timeless design. The design remained same decades after decades. Enfields are known for ultra comfortable riding ergonomics and seat. Enfield has such a rich history and cult following that it's difficult for most Indian's to resist temptation. Besides bullet and classic 350 is cheaper than dominar 400 by a good margin. Another major reason behind its sales is due to the low end torque. Its a effortless motorcycle to ride. Hence it gives a cruiser character with abundance low end grunt even with luggage and pillion. The mass also likes its thunderous exhaust note. And lastly there was nothing that can compete against Classic 350.

Royal Enfield opened its first Big Wing showroom in Gurgaon (near IFFCO Chowk), I hope your bad experience is not with them. This is a special big bike Royal Enfield showroom and will eventually be the only point of sale for their big bikes.

For riding in ladhakh its a amazing machine....you should go for Himalayan 400 .....its a good bike for touring , commuting , off-roading....good luck bro

I am confused between a classic 350 and bullet please help

Hi, it's my first post here, though have been reading the boards here for years.

I was looking for some insights into the delivery process by the RE dealerships.

I recently booked my Himalayan about 2 weeks ago. Due to the prevailing circumstances, it was only possible for me to take the delivery of the bike in the next month. So, while I knew the wait times for the Himalayan have been extensively long, I requested the dealer to see if he can do something to deliver it within 4 weeks. He said there was a way, and he would notify the company, and they will let him know if any of the nearby dealerships had a bike and then that bike would be transferred to him.

Now, two weeks later, he has got the bike. His explanation for this availability is that the company sends bikes in random colors at times, and then some of the colors aren't picked up, so they are available for longer, and hence he was able to get this bike from a nearby dealership.

My main concern here is that I do not want a bike that has been rejected due to performance issues or any other defects. He says the manufacturing of the bike is in early December and after it was delivered it has been in the initial dealership.

I was wondering if anyone here with some inside knowledge can shed some light on if what he says makes sense. Is the process of allotment and delivery of the bikes by RE random at times? Also, is it probable that one of the colors hasn't been in demand for about a month? Also, would you say it is probable that the bike is completely fine and doesn't have issues? Are there any precautions or checks you would suggest I take before taking the delivery?

I have also booked mine (RE - Meteor) on 28 November and the estimated delivery is in Feb 21. Guess I have to wait for a long time. Any suggestions as to how I can speed it up? Are there any communications on status of booking that is made by RE on a periodic basis? Or do they just contact only when the bike is ready for delivery.

Got a call from RE showroom that bike has arrived the yard. Sales guy requested me to pay the amount to start the RTO procedures, so paid the full amount today. Bike will be arriving the showroom tomorrow morning, will go and visit the bike in person once it has arrived. Tentative delivery date is Dec 2nd. Hope the newly forming monsoon won't play any spoil sport. Fingers crossed!

Congratulations on booking one! My tentative delivery date was Dec 7th, but I'm scared RE showroom folks will throw their usual tantrums by allotting my bike to someone else who booked the bike on a later date.
