I have TD Duke, It is wonderful machine to own .It is well suited for city rides. But I am not live in city. All my ride consist my village and city which is only 1km width .

Most of my friends advised to buy re 350 standard just for it looks great for eyes of others....but according to me , If you feel good on your bike...you look good on your bike..I am expecting that feel..that comfort from TB 350.
Your words are not taken offensively. Don't mind the comments. We understand that some Enfield owners hold themselves in high regards.

If the roads are too poor, then I agree that overall Enfield should be a better choice. But that's slightly debatable, because the weight of Enfield goes against it, by not a small, but by almost a 40 kgs margin.
But of course, associating a bike with youth, is not exactly practical thinking.

I'm not a college student either. In fact, I'm a lecturer. Students call me Samarth Sir. And, I ride a Duke 390.
And people don't feel my personality is out of place. They think I'm a biking guru or some type, and many of them students take my advice before purchasing a bike. Some of them took Discover 100, Yamaha R15, FZ16, etc. on my advice alone. And they're happy.
The Duke looks so unique, but its not exactly kiddish. Specially not with a modern 390cc engine inside it.

My final advice would be, take a 2-4 kms test ride atleast. Its a long term decision and you can request both the showrooms for this, explaining your situation.
You will definitely find benefits and demerits of both bikes. Just see, which bike you'll be able to live with. And love it, after few years of ownership.

Believe me, you'll get your answer. And that will truly be a relevant one.

Sorry for the style I wrote. I have corrected it.

It's not about how hard you get hit... It's about how hard you get hit and just keep moving forward.

Your story may not have such a happy beginning... But that doesn't make you who you are... It is the rest of your story... Who you chose to be.

Thank you sir for commenting. I do consider your suggestions.
Have great respect on duke 390. Twice as good as 200 duke. But its costs over 2 lack slight above from my budget consideration.

TB 350 is a good choice. I own one since past 1.5 years. There will be minor niggles like most other bikes which will be covered by warranty. Other than that no need to worry. It is a great bike. This bike has got attention to detail by Royal Enfield. You will not regret your choice. But the most important factor is A.S.S. Do give it prior impotance.

Re: Took U turn from buying KTM 200 duke: Booked RE 350 TB

            Interesting discussion going on.

I would say go for KTM. First learn to ride properly, get a feel of biking. It's your first bike. Understand riding first.

I started riding 2 years ago. Bought myself a pulsar 180. And after exploiting it for some more years, I ll think about upgrading to a new bike, maybe an Enfield. Because, I know it for a fact that REs are tough to maintain. You need to invest a lot of time and money since day one (its debatable for some though). So, I ll first understand the concept of bike, learn its various components. Then upgrade to RE maybe.

My advice would be, buy KTM. It takes less maintenance, hence, less time on bike repair, and more time on improving your overall skills as a responsible rider.

Could you please explain what is A.S.S? I know only about A.B.S...!

                    A.S.S means After Sales Service.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

By the way, I had two Enfield motorcycles and moved to duke 390 after selling those and I know now how incorrect I was in assuming RE to be awesome. But the point now is that I moved from being a man to a boy . Oh Man! you made my day. Feel so young now!

While you say "I was incorrect" give some reasons why you were incorrect....! You can't say simply I was incorrect.

It's not about being correct or incorrect. Get the bike you love and which you can take care of. RE demands a little more attention when compared to other bikes on the road. It is not the fill it, shut it and forget types. It always demands attention.
But it can be repaired anywhere by any 2 wheeler mechanic and that's the beauty of it. No fancy parts.
If you're aware of its tantrums and you're prepared to caress it, you can never get wrong with an RE.

Incorrect because I enjoy riding duke more . Its fast and fun(390). I can cover a lot more distance in lesser time and I know that the motorcycle has good enough stopping capabilities. Although I still love the CI engine for its thump.

Thank you Divya Sharan. Yes of course I love it.But some people fear me saying that Bike's engine is not reliable.Stops in the middle of traffic for no reason. If it is true then situation is horrible if I go tours on that.If really this type of severe problem exists then how could brand RE survived for 100 years......?

Could you please explain what are those "little more attention.......?"

Good Luck with the Bullet, err, I mean the T' Bird (Sorry to say, it ain't a bullet). Am on the opposite side, you see. If given a chance, I'll trade my classic (can call it a bullet, can't I?) for a Duke 390.

T'Bird is a good machine. a bit "niggly", but good luck with your choice.

Men-Boy argument is awkward to say the least. Men are not by what they have between their legs (and by that I mean the ride, and not *@$#), but how they handle it. Riding safe and sensibly is what men do.

                                : peace:

                                Regards,
                                Achyut.
