How technically forward is your bike?
1.does it's body built by carbon fibers?.Usually entry level sports bikes use imitated plastics instead of real Carbon fiber which is costlier.
2.Fuel injected engines of course latest technology against Carburetor ,but what type of fuel injection you own, is that electronic fuel injected system?
Electronic fuel injection uses signals from several sensors located on the engine. Based on these signals, a computer decides the best fuel / air mixture for the engine. Fuel injection monitors engine vacuum, exhaust gas temperature, ambient air pressure, incoming air temperature, engine water temperature, throttle position. etc. Fuel injection is self tuning to fuel quality, engine condition, and atmospheric conditions.

And also fuel injected engines are complex structure to repair.

Further bike from which I switched is Duke 200 which don't have ABS.

3 .You mentioned about alloy wheel.Most of the long riding cruisers have spoke wheel even KTM adventure 990.

Guys, the OP has made his mind and we should respect that. We have pointed out our concerns and with the OP's replies, it is clear that he's done his research and Royal Enfield suits him.
Frankly, the response to this thread is much more than I'd expected.

But, now the thread has become more of a rant and mud slinging thread. Let's keep it clean and wish the OP best for his upcoming RE!

after reading all through the thread, i think i can contribute my 2cents to this discussion.

All that is spoken here about an RE is true. pathetic build quality, no quality control, niggles etc etc are very true.
i personally own a TB350, 2014 model. below is the list that i have changed in warranty.
1. Fuel tank (it was leaking after a 1000kms trip)
2. faulty wiring kit (because of this my bike stalled on the road 3 times)
3. headlight console (lucky that i got it covered under warranty, otherwise it would have cost me around 6-7k)
4. speedometer console (still the problem persists and i have decided not to check the time from my bike hereafter)

apart from this, we need to constantly check the chain tension, there is a mild breaking/wobbling feeling etc issues which are not a deal breaker though.

Although i admire my RE TB350 and i love riding it and the folks in my RE riding club, at this point of time and with the other choices available in the current market (which are more reliable and niggle free),RE should first improve on Quality(when does it happen?? - god knows) than increasing quantity.

All this said, if i had a choice now to swap my bike i would definitely go for the D390 (just for the performance,breaking,metzelers etc)

Time for RE to wakeup and make reliable stuff.

That's what I wrote while approving the thread in the 1st place! He had already made up his mind and sought replies from us w.r.t his choice of ride.

Every bike is different and for some reason, the RE never appealed me in any way. I have seen many bullets being pushed on the highways with a load..
my friend who owns a RE Classic 350 has had lots of problems with his bike.. He often calls me and my other friend on RTR 180 to come help him with his bike.. The electric wiring kit goes out often..

fill up the tank (tank full) and let the bike on side.. you will see the fuel leaking out of the tank lid.. ride the bike for some time and make sure if there is a pillion sitting on the rear seat doesn't have his/her leg/shoes/chappals/sandals rested on the silencer otherwise they will have to forget the costly footwear they are wearing..

You don't need to apply brakes to stop a bullet. All you have to do is let go of the throttle and the bike will halt in few seconds.. Credits go to the weight..

for some reason, I find the plastic to be better than metal.. at-least plastic will cost me less to replace if needed.. oh yeah, I don't have to worry about rusting.. maintaining a metal body is very difficult unless you maintain it properly..

I ever loved to own a cruiser since my childhood.If its possible I would have been gone for Harley or Triumph. At present TB is the one affordable for me. If possible in future I will definitely go for Harley or Triumph, until then I will keep enjoying TB.

I have made up my mind,I am ready to welcome her to my life and maintain her with little extra care and ready to face the problems that comes on my way.....
