  • Which used bike for track use?

Hi guys, I am looking for a used bike for track use and need to decide between Duke 200 and Pulsar 200NS. My budget is around 75 to 80K at max.

Pulsar 200NS: Finding one doesn't seem to be an issue, but production seem to have been reduced to favour AS version. IMO this would be a trouble when I try to sell it off after an year or so. I have a fear that Bajaj might completely stop the production of this model if AS does well in the market.

Duke 200: Hard to find one in good condition for the mentioned price range. Not sure why 2012 model owners are quoting price close to a new 200NS price, introductory price was around 1.3L onroad!

Did you consider R15 as one of your options?

+1 for R15 , Else look at CBR 150. For your purpose these fit perfectly.

        R15 or an RC200.

Buying a naked for a track is almost as stupid as commuting on a supersport.

R15 seems to be expensive to maintain! Guy who rides with me on the track has one, so have an idea about its pros and cons. Will have it as an option if none of the above two workout.

            Anyways,Look for R15(Overall the Best,Can't believe 'High Maintainence'),RTR 180 ABS(Safest,Awesome Exhaust Note and Performance,Suffers from Vibrations),Pulsar 220F (Fastest but least reliable)

I would suggest the rc200 over the r15.
Availability in second hand market will be a problem though.

Nakeds are not for track, you would get tired because of wind blast.

RX100 is up and running, just needs a fresh coat of pain.

Yes, without a doubt RC is built for the track, but its almost impossible to find one in my budget.

Again finding a used one is close to impossible, power bump from my current ride is not much.

Been to track on my Hunk, never felt uncomfortable, chennai track has only two long straights . Would see if I could get an RC close to my budget.

Thanks for the inputs guys, will look for above mentioned bikes too. More inputs from my side:
                    • I can't get a new bike even if my budget permits(personal reasons)
                    • Been to track already on a naked, except for awkward handle position I didn't have any issue.
                    • Going to track just to have fun, not into serious racing.
                    • Reason for stressing on low maintenance is that I already have a few to maintain(big headache)

Used RTR 180 ABS can be found cheaper (Ranging from 50K to 90K).

I would say,Mod your RX 100 and set the track on Blue smoke.

Or try to get an RD 350 !

Looking at your requirements I too would suggest rtr180.
Firstly it will be well within your budget and secondly, low maintenance costs. The extra cash can be used to get a good set of tyres.

Actually ABS is nor really useful on the track. But yes, I admit, at that budget, its the Apache that makes the most sense.

Or you can buy a Pulsar RS200 and "leave track racing to amateurs"
