Pfff Bwahahahahahahahahaha ! You are right,If he gets a Failsar RS 200,Then its true - "leave track racing to amateurs"

    a) give me an independent source, not the manufacturer's youtube video.

    b) I know it for a fact that ABS actually increases braking distance in track racing.

Do you know that all Supersport and Hypersport motorcycles have modes?

A vast majority of motorcycles have what is known as a Race mode?

Ferrari has mode called CST, which is to be used on track?

Do you know what these do? Yep. You guessed it right. They turn off all electrical and driver aids.

ABS wont be of any use if one is seriously following track riding.

Who rides on the track? Professionals/very good riders
Do professionals have good reflexes? Yes
Can they detect wheel lock-up? Yes
                Does weight matter? Yes
                Does ABS add weight? Yes
Can a very good rider brake better than ABS? Yes

Take an example. Give Lorenzo/Rossi/Marques/any other Moto GP rider two identical bikes. One with ABS, and the other without.
And the one without ABS will be faster 9/10 times, in the hand of a professional.

Take another example. Give a new rider two identical bikes. One with ABS. One without.
The one with ABS will be faster 9/10 times.

When you become a pro, ABS becomes more of a hindrance than an aid.

Pulsar 200NS would be great for you...it falls under your budget and the maintenance is low(cheap parts).

Re: Which used bike for track use?

Do Not and i repeat DO NOT go pulsar 200NS as a track bike bro. I have an NS so i can say that due to the very large tank side design and high mounted fuel tank, the center of gravity of the bike is much higher than it should be on a track bike. You will find it hard to lean the bike and the back end also slips out easily making it hard on track. Besides the upright seating straight tank fairing will be an hindrance while leaning forward and wind-blast will be more due to this. So everytime before you enter a corner you will have to rise up a little which won't be helpful.

According to me the best option would be to go for an Apache, had one in the past, and with better tires you can easily lean with much confidence on your side. Hope you find this info helpful.

You can easily buy a second hand Apache for 35k to 40k get it modified from Race Concepts for 34,000 and you will have a bike faster than NS and equivalent to a CBR in terms of performance

@people suggesting RTR180, option sounds good, but mostly looking for bikes which are from a segment above. It does have an option to switch ABS off, so that will not be an issue.

I guess I should test ride NS a bit more.

Updates: Tons of bikes are on sale, prices seem to be too high in chennai for good condition ones. Better take my own time to make this purchase, else I see myself wasting a lot due to depreciation!

Can someone give approximate value of below bikes?

One year old R15 V2: approximately 10K km covered
Two years old R15 V2: Again less than 10K km covered
                        2012 Duke 200 : less than 20K km
One year old 200NS with less than 5K km

All the above bikes are in good shape.

I repeat "again" NS is not a track bike, you would be disappointed taking it to track, rest upto you. Your money, your wish.

"not a track bike"... i disagree on that one bro.
I know the bike lacks a windshield, but apart from that it is good for tracks.

CBR has a windshield, so it is a track bike? RIP logic.

Track riding is more about ergonomics, riding position and handling than wind blast.

The NS is NOT a track bike.

                                Why so rude bro?
I was just saying that the 200NS doesn't have a windshield and can create a little problem on high speeds.

The thing is, NS handles better than the CBR in my opinion and is much more better than CBR at corners.
