  • 220 vs zma vs r15

Hii everyone,i m planning to get a bike for myself in 2-3 months and i m damn confused between pulsar 220,yamaha yzf-r15 and karizma r(don't like much)
i like Pulsar 220 most but not sure abt. its reliability and smoothness of engine,And i want to know when the new 220 with 21 bhp coming?I like R15's looks, but it is cramped(i think),and with the tech-goodies it comes,it do not justifies it price,Also its not good for city riding as its power is optimized for higher rpms(for touring etc).....Karizma is a brillant tourer but it lacks goodies. Also i wont do much tourung......
plz. help me guys,i m in a great fix.........!

Please try and avoid brand-wars. The guy has asked a query, to clean out his confusion. Let us clear his confusion in a logical and proper way, instead of getting into personal brand vendettas!

Oh No!!! not again...just when we thought that this battle is over, here comes another one...

@Aditya: can you be more precise about your requirements? I mean what is your usage; what are you looking at (power, looks, efficiency, low maintenance, buying cost)?
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

        And the saga continues......

@Aditya-biking pro: Welcome to xBhp! There are a few threads in the What Bike? - xBhp.com : The Global Indian Biking Community section that are a bit similar to your query. Do have a look there too, you'd get a fair idea of things!

well i guess i am loving this premium segment comparison..which never seems to end good for me, as i shall also be getting one in the next 3-4 months!

                @Aditya-biking pro
Mate, welcome to XBhp!! I guess a little more details would surely help, but as of now my money is totally on the R15..
i would suggest to take a TD first, of all the bikes before coming to a conclusion!

I'm already sitting on the couch with pop-corn... ready for the mind-boggling entertainment.

@Aditya: Which bike do you currently ride or ridden earlier??

                  1. No idea when the new P220 will be launched.. existing model has almost no issues-I say dont buy it... P200 with same styling(and 19bhp) and faring might be coming out the next week of fortnight.
                  2. R15 is a pocket rocket and people have different views about it (I like it)... and
                  3. ZMA is ever green bike with almost no issues...
Take a test ride.... and go for the one you feel the most VFM plus good for u.

Also check out the ownership threads of the respective bikes + the link Praful gave in the above posts.

                    sorry i didn't mention much about my requirements.I require power,looks and features.I don't care about mileage,maintenance and all.But i need a trouble-free bike.........
I have ridden 220 only till now and found it superb....its pickup, gearshift, and headlights r out of the world......
i will soon take a test ride of zma.

not much to choose mate... R15 is not that good for City. You don't like the ZMA so much. You liked the P220 and its power delivery is better than the ZMA. Go for it and take care of it well so it won't trouble you much.

                            Gentlemen, I have two questions:
                            1. Which is the better bike for touring: ZMA or 220. Esp taking into consideration 120 KM odd w/Pillion.
                            2. What are the current OTR prices of P220 and Karizma. And which one is the cheaper. Is the price difference more than 10-15K irrespective of location ? I ask this because Pulsar seems differently priced on different sources.

^^ZMA is no doubt the king of touring!
But that being said, you can tour on the 220 too , but at the end of the day the more refined motor+comfortable riding stance makes of a better tourer.

The ZMA is cheaper than the 220, I am not aware of the exact price differential, but I guess its around 10K!

@Aditya: You seem to be tending towards the 220 a lot, but before you make your final decision do have a TD of the R15 and the ZMA. Both are brilliant bikes in their own right!
PS: You have to take care of a 220 comparatively more than the other two bikes!
