Can anyone know what were the problems in earlier batches/lot of 220s and which of them are resolved in the current 220s?
Thanks in advance
1. the front wheel squeak (oil seal issue)
2.Silencer leak after 10k kms , new silencers come now
3.shorter/vibrating mirrors (new ones are longer)
4.strater issue , i think fixed with relay coil
5.fuel guage with absurd readings , fixed with new float type
this is all i can think of

I can think of one-in all Pulsars. They suddenly get stalled for no rhyme or reason whatsoever,&refuse to start for about 30min.or so. Later, they start as if nothing had happened!

luckily , since mid 2003 , none of my pulsars have gone bad like that ... and never seen one do that

That has not happened with my Pulsars as well. You might have heard of a specific case. In fact, such incidents are common to all manufacturers...
I have heard of ZMAs, RTRs, FZs R15s, 220s, 180s, 150s, Hunks, Splendors and all imaginable/unimaginable samples going kaput. That necessarily does not mean that there is a flaw in the design/manufacturing...
At the end of it, I am sure that no manufacturer wants to be labelled as hopeless and bad. Its just that some are better at fixing and some keep trying
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

Nice line.... but the last 3 words.... 'some keep trying'.... whom do you refer that to??
Kya sirjee...all the above simply dont stall...their engine mite get seized after continuous punishment to the engine....!!
Na na...no seizure...
I have had friends who reported strangest of things starting from CDI going berserk, spark plug wire loose contacts, plug wire not connected, plug electrode giving way, head develops a leak and the engine does not pump up, broken accelerator and clutch cables, threads on the plug giving way, bent con rods at 50 kmph, nuts in the crankcase, no oil in engine, melted pistons, engine mounts broken, electronic issues and everything that you can imagine.
To add, all this happened to most of them without exceptions. Its just that the color fading on a Hero Honda is taken as "graceful ageing" and that on a TVS or a Bajaj is taken as "inferior quality"

No manufacturer in specific...but just a generic statement.
Look at LML...they did try to come out with some decent bikes but people and their perceptions never allowed LML to take off...
It took a product like Pulsar to get Bajaj off the "scooter and auto manufacturer" perception to where it is today. In the same sense, it will take Bajaj a ground breaking product to break the perception that its quality/engineering/products are not world class.

^ These are all-together different things yaar...!!
What that guy is that after the stall...the bike wasn't starting....but out of no where after 30 mins the bike starts up and fine...as if nothing had happened...!!
Now how can above problem relate to what you said...and secondly i never heard such problem in HH bikes...!!
I can smell brand war (cold war)..... some trying to pull the p220 into unwanted reliability issues chapter... and some trying to defend it.
I know P220 is not a reliable bike.... but the older pulsars are very much reliable. The P150/P180 being the most reliable bike.... all the parts available everywhere... never get stalled in the middle of somewhere.... good better batteries (against R15's and FZ's puny batteries which give away very soon). If you ask me.... my P220 has never stalled anywhere anytime, nor had any of my earlier bikes (180 v1 and 180 v2)---- even after 1000kms of brutal ripping at 110kmph NON-STOP.... at 9k+ rpm.... the engine was pretty reliable (on my v2) .... and still running strong.
