If your budget is at 4L and ok with riding posture you should consider new Ninja 300. It's a great machine with killer looks.

      1. background:- i am 5'9'', appx 80 kgs age 33, i have been riding Thunderbird 350 cc for last 10 yrs. Did quite a few long rides of more than 1000 km and honestly the bike was pleasure except for last

two years when i was not able to pay the much required attention to any RE bike. Now i am looking for a bike which i will use for minimum five years before thinking of changing.

      2. requirements and aspirations(limitations too):-
      (a) i cant spend more than 3 lacs on road.
      (b) any RE bike is super last option.
      (c) reliability
      (d) performance
      (e) comfort
      (f) ASC
      (g) touring ability
      (h) max i can delay my decision for the bike is march 2016.
      3. i will be traveling 70% in city however quality of balance 30% ride is no less important.
      4. i ll be in Agra and Pune for next1.5 yrs, dont know where life will take me after that.
      5. bikes that i have considered
      (a) mahindra mojo (decision would have been easy if there was any clarity on ABS)
      (b) cbr 250 (i dont mind but is'nt it a very common bike?)
      (c) tnt 300 (after sale ??? and just on the edge of my budget, that means riding gear has wait for some time)

      thanx in advance
Give a try for kawasaki z250, I have tested this bike, excellent refined engine with loads of bottom torque, and life time reliability of Kawasaki engine. Will come on road price of 3.4 lakh.

I'd suggest wait till Auto Expo 16'. Many new bikes are coming. & Duke/RC, R3 would be better than Ninja imo as its only 296cc. Remember there is no replacement for displacement (Considering the price).

& go for second-hand market if ur getting a gud deal. I've bought 2-3 items as of now on O** and they are all performing very well as of now. But, I bought them seeing either the quality of products/ the owner's enthusiasm, pedigree.

          Thanks Jack Daniels and Anunay..
          Ninja 300 is a good option..no doubts..
I ll go ahead with second hand bike..only if the bike is in good condition..
I have already crossed my planned budget by 1 lac.. if at the end of Auto Expo there are no better options available then it is going to be difficult..
After N300 and Yamahaa R3 (3.5 lacs). The next segment starts with N650 at (6.5 lacs plus)..
R3 , I may be wrong but doesn't offer any better technology ..suspension..tyres..breaks....

True, it certainly does not offer anything. Although people say that the suspension is soft and the bike is comfortable.
Its made from old tech so the gears are hard, regular front forks, pistons copied from R1 and no deltabox frame. Its pretty heavy and looks like R15 to the untrained eye. Your ~4L bike will look like a cheap bike most of the people ride to showoff. Tyres are also MRF and I heard they slip if you take sharp turns at high speed. Oh, did I mention that the bike heats up quite a bit in traffic and will throw tantrums while starting if its engine is running hot.

I think you should buy a KTM Duke 390, its got ABS, good tyres, lightweight, cheap, slipper clutch, USD forks. So you will get the best Value for money.

            Yamaha YZF R3 (Jan 2016 - Present)

            TVS Ntorq 125 (May 2018 - Apr 2019)
            KTM Duke 125 (Apr 2019 - Dec 2019)

You are absolutely right about both the R3 and KTM.

So.. as on date..the heart took over..a complete revamp of choices..
                  1. Ninja 650
                  2. Versys
Versys..has all the things that makes it..desirable...but is 2 lacs more than N650

I'm also of the opinion of not going for a used product, unless one is 100% sure, which hardly is the case ever. Secondly, if one is the kind of person who keeps things for a long period, to reduce risk, first /second models of any product should be skipped. Basically avoid being an 'early bird', and let the product mature a bit. These are two policies that I've always followed and never disappointed.

If I were you I'd pick N650. Do u know N650 is currently one of the most vfm products out there. Although less than the KTMs.[emoji30] [emoji16]
But, still it depends upon one's personal choice. As I can't stand a Bullet, but it sells a lot. Though I do like the anti-chrome version.

For the Extra 1.2 Lach (x showroom) you get ABS and adjust front shockers.

I would have loved to buy the versys, I just don't have the money[emoji4]

I was in a similar state of mind a week ago, but then if you bring into other factors such as maintenance: service, spares, insurance, fuel plus EMI (if you plan to go for one!) into the picture. You aren't just upgrading to a bigger bike for VFM or whatever reason, but you are also pushing yourself to high cost of maintaining them. See if you can manage this before letting your heart take over! When I did the math on going with TNT 600i, I need to shell out 2.4L or ~20k every month for EMI + Fuel + Insurance + Maintenance (Service + Spares) for one year!

                            You are right..
Maintenance and reliability is one major factor due to which I have finalised kawasaki only. Benelli as you have quoted is known for very short service intervals and frequent change.

So hopefully..any one of these bikes should not be a problem to maintain..

What's with the link? The news seems old (Aug 2015) and have you decided on your choice yet?
