Thanks for the suggestions but a lot has been discussed on these if you had checked the replies in the thread and other simialar ones. I've figured it's better to get a twin cylindered bike over a single unless the twin cylinder bikes are priced very high. I'm waiting for tomorrow's announcement from Yamaha on MT-03 and want to make a choice based on that. It looks like this is your first post since you joined back in 2013, welcome!

Yearly expenses approx - 18k for a 300 CC bike.
Thanks, it is indeed a costly affair.. Any comparison available with R3?

Dug Yamaha R3's Ownership thread and found this:

"For R3 - First service at 1000kms, then every 5000kms. Engine oil costs around 460rs/Litre and Oil filter 360rs. So around 2000rs per service."

          Hope it helps!

Does this make R3 the cheapest to maintain in 250+ segment! Thought to ponder

You will get a nice used 300 twin for that money along with loads to spare. A Ninja300 will be a very capable tourer and the extra cash can be used to modify as you please.

What you have to understand is, though the Ninja 650/ER6N might be in your budget right now, you will be stretching it far and then the up keep will just be painful. Costs like insurance, service, fuel will be around to haunt your wallet for ever.
When I'm on the road, I'm indestructible. No one can stop me... but they try.

It's the Mahindra mojo which would be the cheapest
