Because you mentioned you are a family man and Pillion comfort is mandatory :-P Mojo's rear seat is narrow and I felt it was slippery ... IMO ... for a moderate+ to a heavy set pillion.Originally posted by BAJRANG View Post

Re: Help Me Out - Bike Purchase
Honda CBR 250R is one thing Honda did right in India, but it's getting outdated vs other bikes in terms of looks but it's still best in regards to everything want in a bike. If you can live with it's looks then it's the bike for you for a long time to come. Other then that you should test drive the Mojo just for your own sake to see if it's something you and your pillion would like to have, it's a amazing product from Mojo. TnT25 is also a good product but I wouldn't go for it because of less service areas."Biking: the Under-Rated and Drug-Free Antidepressant"

Hey Naveen,
Thanks for your response. Point taken. Honda CBR250R is right up there in my list!!

Hey Shadcool, Thanks for your inputs. based on my requirement that I had posted in my thread I have received an overwhelming response for Honda CBR250R. As far as Mojo is concerned, I have read good things about it but would certainly like to see it in flesh and more importantly take a test ride before finalizing!!! Benelli TNT 25 goes out of the list (no disrespect for people who have purchased it!!! I'm sure it's a very good bike)....Originally posted by shadcool786 View PostHonda CBR 250R is one thing Honda did right in India, but it's getting outdated vs other bikes in terms of looks but it's still best in regards to everything want in a bike. Still have a soft corner for Royal Enfield Standard 500... Let's see how things go... Planning to go for a Test ride of Honda CBR250R today. Called up the dealer but no one picked the call. Will visit the dealer in sometime...

I don't know whether you called up Dugar Honda(VIP Road) or not. From few of my friends who own a Honda bike, people there are not too courteous. Also their after sales support is not that good. If you have any other Honda Dealer in mind, do call them up.A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

Re: Help Me Out - Bike Purchase
Hi all, while doing some research on honda cbr250r i found that most of the reviews, blogs, vlogs etc were of the view that this is a very good tourer. Is it good for daily/city commute? I don't plan to tour a lot on this bike..only once in a while and my primary use would be in the city. Is it a good idea to have faired bikes for city commute during bumper to bumper traffic? Also what about the maintenance cost of faired vs naked bikes? I mean is there any difference?
Thanks in advance for your help and guidance.

Re: Help Me Out - Bike Purchase
If your use is city mainly, and you don't crave the highway, then bullet 500 would be more than enough for you. Its got better torque for stop and go traffic, plus the agility and the braking difference between them becomes negligible in the city.
Fairer bikes have disadvantage of slightly larger turning radius, but they keep out nosy people who would fiddle with your bike. Most faired bikes have small rattles, which can be easily fixed.

Re: Help Me Out - Bike Purchase
Thanks for the input... I was also thinking along the same lines since my commute would be more limited to the city...and occasionally on the highway.. I won't be able to make it to weekend rides conducted by biker communities that often...not that I don't want to.. But due to personal commitments...yes occasionally it could be possible but that too limited to 200-300 kms max..however that doesn't mean I shouldn't care for agility or braking.. And Royal Enfield are not known for their braking capabilities... Except for maybe TB500... Expert comments if any???Originally posted by leech View PostIf your use is city mainly, and you don't crave the highway, then bullet 500 would be more than enough for you. Re: Help Me Out - Bike Purchase
My friend, actually you need to revisit your own post and reconsider your requirements because on Page 2 you shortlisted bikes such as the CBR250 and RE500. From what angle did those 2 bikes seem like Streetfighters to you?Originally posted by BAJRANG View Post

Also in your first post you mentioned: "A notch above standard 150 CC bikes. I'm looking for atleast 250 CC"
What is that supposed to mean? There are many naked bikes between 150 and 250 but you want atleast 250cc? Also just so you know, no where in your first post you mentioned that you prefer nakeds.
If you are looking for atleast a 250cc naked with a 2.5lakh budget then you have only 3 options: Duke 390, TNT25, Mojo 300
From some of your previous posts it looks like you not liking any of these 3 bikes which means you are straying away from the Naked category and into the Faired category with teh CBR250R.
So once again I am telling you. Decide whether you want a Naked bike or a Faired bike.
Now for a suggestion from me, its quite simple:
Naked: TNT25
Faired: CBR250R
Unfortunately these 2 bikes are the only option you have for your capacity requirement and your budget.
If you go for REs, thats cruiser segement. Some people manage to ride it for daily commutes, thats their choice.

Dear Friend,
Please see my feedback on the faired Vs Naked part. It is also there in Page 1:

HEY motomonster, I still have honda cbr250r in my list but didn't mention it in my post as it would have lead to too many options and that's where it becomes confusing. Well the reason it's at the bottom of my list is because of the following:
1. Pretty old. Honda has just launched some face lift variants with new colour schemes. Not sure if Honda has it's priorities set in the 300-500 cc segment.
2. Not very fond of faired vehicles and prefer naked over them
Thanks,
Bajrang
Now to your next point:
"on Page 2 you shortlisted bikes such as the CBR250 and RE500. From what angle did those 2 bikes seem like Streetfighters to you? "
CBR250R was suggested to me by experts in the forum. It was never there in my initial list and I wasn't even considering it initially. But since I got an overwhelming response on CBR250R i decided to include it in my list. RE500 was always there and it still is!!!
Pardon my ignorance on this subject but I am not up to date with the latest naming conventions like Streetfighters etc. I assumed that there were only 2 categories of bikes faired and naked. So I may be wrong on this subject and that is exactly why I am writing in this forum and seeking advice from the experts.
"Now for a suggestion from me, its quite simple:

Thank you very much for your suggestion. It is highly appreciated.

Some People!!!! Are you sure!!!

Re: Help Me Out - Bike Purchase
Bajrang, I'm sure you want the best bike for your money, right? Its totally all right to compare different classes of bikes, especially if you're new to biking. Biking purists will demand you choose a bike according to class, not pricing and practicality.
But at this stage if you are confused between naked/faired and cruiser/commuter, you must know the characteristics of each.
My friend recently purchased a desert Storm 500, and he uses it for what he likes. High speed (100) touring, it looks good. Parked next to local panipuri wala, it looks good too. In fact, the panipuri stall vibrates whenever he starts the bike. 😸
Don't let someone closet you into different categories. What matters is, you shouldn't regret the purchase. As long as the bike isn't impractical, you should be fine with either naked/faired.
PS: I believe the bullets don't come with tubeless tyres. Can you check if the newer models have tubed or tubeless?

Re: Help Me Out - Bike Purchase
Leech, thanks a lot for your kind words.... I think I have been able somehow make up my mind after going through your post... As you mentioned it shouldn't be impractical...I guess I have tried to visualize my self in each of these bikes... And I guess the Royal Enfield wins... Honestly I don't see myself riding sporty looking bike (Honda, ktm, mojo etc) for the next 10 years...but I do see Royal Enfield (standard, classic or TB) standing next to me and making me look good after 10 or even 20 odd years...yes I agree that RE is not fill it forget it type of bike but the USP of RE bikes are they age with you...

Re: Help Me Out - Bike Purchase
Class segregation was made on the basis of practicality. Unfortunately in India majority of the people dont have the adequate knowledge on this and thats why there are people who use bikes like Duke 390 for touring and RC390 for daily commutes. I am not pointing fingers at anyone but thats just wrong. I cant blame them anyways since most people cannot afford multiple bikes for their specific purposes. (Also using the Duke390 as a tourer is not practical, its economical)Originally posted by leech View PostBajrang, I'm sure you want the best bike for your money, right? Re: Help Me Out - Bike Purchase
Hi RoyalIndian, you are right about class seggregation..and people should be aware of different classes of bikes which would inturn help them choose bikes based on their preference... But when I used to ride bikes say about 10-15 yrs back there was no such categorization of bikes.. It was scooter, hero puch with 2 gears and if you wanted something more powerful you had bikes...all these concepts are fairly new to people like us and that's why these forums are available so that we can bring ourselves up to speed...
