Re: Best 150 segment bike ?
Ok, instead going with statements people put across about the Gixxer. I'd suggest you to take a test ride and decide it for yourself. Makes more sense. Re: Best 150 segment bike ?
Resale value depends on place I guess , here Honda unicorn has high resale value than Bajaj 150 ,Originally posted by dual disc 200 View PostIf you are planning to upgrade the current purchase over a period of 4 or 5 yrs later, then I suggest you go with Bajaj 150 which IMHO offers the highest resale value in the pre-owned market.
If that's not in your deck of cards, then the Apache 160 4V is a beautiful bike to go with. However, the resale of either the Yamaha SZ-RR (If you choose to go with) or Apache 160 4V would suck big time post the 5 year period.

Highly suggest you take good test ride of all 3 bikes , and also check reviews about service center in your area .Originally posted by josephnasif View PostI really like the gixxer, but i heard that it doesn't suit tall riders.

Bro my options are
*Gixxer which i really like(i heard its not suitable for tall rider)
*Ns 160 (didnt like thin tyre)
*Rtr 4v which havent launch in our country yet.

Re: Best 150 segment bike ?
Honda unicorn 150 will be best suited for your requirements especially for tall riders like you. It scores perfectly in all the aspects like comfort, reliability, mileage, ease of maintenance. It can be used for both city commuting and highway touring. It is the only bike in 150cc to 160cc segment with minimal flaws. But it is one of the least powered motorcycles in 150cc segment.Originally posted by josephnasif View PostHi guys,
Soon I will buy my very first bike. It has to be 150-160cc segment.
My height is 6'3.
So it has to be a bike suitable for my height. I was thinking of buying Gixxer, until I saw many reviews, where they said its uncomfortable for tall riders.
So, please suggest me a motorcycle.
Thanks.

Re: Best 150 segment bike ?
In that case, you can go for hornet which uses the same honda unicorn engine retuned to give more performance. Mileage figures are also very good. The bike looks muscular and beefy with wider 140 section rear tyre which should absolutely suit you considering your height. Gixxer is also a very good option but tall riders may find uncomfortable. So Hornet 160 is what you should pick IMO. But if you can stretch your budget a little bit, I would suggest you to seriously consider Bajaj pulsar ns200. Because the price difference is also not much between hornet and ns200.Originally posted by josephnasif View Postbro i am 21, i want a little sporty looking bike.

So my verdict, if you want to stick to 150 -160cc segment, then Hornet. Else stretch a little bit and get ns200.

That's a nice suggestion. If you had TVS Apache 160 4V, it'd have made perfect sense due you too.Originally posted by vengymgen View PostIn that case, you can go for hornet which uses the same honda unicorn engine retuned to give more performance. Re: Best 150 segment bike ?
I am already owning apache rtr 200 race edition. I am 5'9 and even I am finding the bike seat height to be shorter. Taller guys may definitely find it uncomfortable. Thats why I did not suggest apache rtr 160 4v. Apart from that I felt 160 4v to be much smoother and refinement is top notch while test drive.Originally posted by Zapps View PostThat's a nice suggestion. Re: Best 150 segment bike ?
I'm also 5'9" but I never felt my RTR 200 to be short. I'm able to plant my feet perfectly on the ground and the tank recesses are also able to accommodate my legs and I guess it must be suitable for someone till at least 6'.Originally posted by vengymgen View PostI am already owning apache rtr 200 race edition. Re: Best 150 segment bike ?
It will suit thinner (tall) people. I know ALI.R who uses a 200 is 6'2" (I think so?), he says it's pretty comfortable. I'm nearly 6' but I have fat thighs which makes the RTR200 uncomfortable (heck.. my thighs don't fit in the tank recesses in the R15 V2Originally posted by ayrus View PostI'm also 5'9" but I never felt my RTR 200 to be short. ).
For taller riders, the hornet and NS200 makes sense. Even FZ v2 is comfortable to a certain degree.
josephnasif, on paper the bikes may feel uncomfortable, the only way to really know is to have a test ride. Go ahead and test ride the ones you've shortlisted.
EDIT - no test rides? Crap. At least persuade them to let you sit on the display bikes. If not, well, I have a friend who's 6'2", the hornet suits him perfectly.Last edited by Shashank K R; 10-24-2018, 12:08 AM.

Re: Best 150 segment bike ?
Thanks bro, now i am thinking before buying the bike first i have to seat on each bike(for 15-20min) to see how comfortable it really is :3 .Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostIt will suit thinner (tall) people.
