I had a bad experience with teflon coating..(done from bajajs showroom)
Initially the bike shines like anything but in the longer run the bikes sheen looses out...
My 7 year old black classic pulsars (non-teflon coated) color is more shiny than my 4 year old dtsis black (which is teflon coated)....!

I would prefer a normal wax coating done at regular intervals rather than teflon coat...!

+1. One of my friend's bike had teflon coat, and after a few months of use, the coating cracked and gave a damaged appearance on the front mudguard, and there were many patches where the coating had given way.

It would be best if u take test ride, i think FZ is most comfortable of the lot i own one so i will give answers to your queries, i would suggest not to go by opinions ppl will go to any limit suggesting the bikes they own, no one wants to feel bad about there purchase eh , so i will answer your queries i had pulsar 150 earlier.

        1. The average is bad... around 38.. has crossed 1200 km nd has done 1st servicing as well..
answer: before 1st service i was getting 42kmpl, after first service it went down to 34kmpl, but i have got second service done now, my frnd rides arnd 80 km daily he said after second service he is geting 41 kmpl i still need to test.

        2. Turning radius is bigger than the rest of the bikes.
answer: well i did not notice such thing, its a bit more but i find it as good as pulsar 150
        3. Problems with the self start, doesnt start on the first click sometimes..
answer: nope no problem i start my bike every morning even in cold weather, i have just missed one click till now its 3 months may be cuz my bike was meant to be changed to reserve, i have high sound horn and nightbreaker installed, still never starting problem. If u care for kick go for pulsar 150, i don't think new 180 has kick. also FZ is best handlers and its nimble in traffic, only drawback is that default monoshock position hits speed breaker with pillion, so u need to get that adjusted. Pillion are comfortable on bike and so does the rider.

        4. You have to use ymaha lube of Rs 500 during every service thats what the guys at yamaha recommended, if u use some other brand they will nort cover warranty, also chain oil is too costly, as its cahin is different, u cant use normal oil, "kharab ho gayi to koi mechanic haath bhi nahin lagayega"

answer:for first service i paid total 450 bucks including filter change and all, also now its 370 for complete service, yamalube is cheap its not Rs 500, u can call yamaha helpline and take care of those ppl. yamaha ppl use motul for lubing chain, i have seen them using the spray bottle and wiping off extra chain lube.

        5. both Initial cost & Owning & Operating Cost. for the bike is high as servicing is costly..
answer: i dont think its too costly may be 100 bucks more than pulsar 150 service i used to pay 2 years ago, dunno about apache and present pulsar service charges.

        6. here u have to pay both thinngs much higher than any other bike in the same segment it requires special yamha parts, yamaha lube, etc. no local brand..
answer: yamaha part aint costly somebody replaced the disc pads and they cost only 150 bucks. Accessory are a bit costly but worth it i have cool mesh from yamaha i thought i can get a seat cover for 100 bucks but i when saw seat mesh and tried it on my frnds bike its totally worth it, keeps your butt cool in summers

Yo dude, Congrats on your bike... looking forward to you sharing experience with it.. m planning to get a new ride in a month or two and would really appreciate if you could shed some light on your bike periodically... Personally i too am inclined to the Pulsar 180ug iv ... it looks cool and muscular .. and for a guy of m height(m 6' 1'') i feel its gonna be good ...m reading good reviews about it till now... i was ok with the RTR's performance but somehow i dont get the feel or pull for it as i do for the Pulsar..maybe its the looks and the short stance...as for the FZ ..the rpm dial just put me off.... rest the bike rides smooth and is cool...but m a bit sceptical about plastic body parts..so FZ..... lets hope Yamaha brings in the new Fazer 150 in time and spoil me for a choice....

Congrats for Pulsar 180 UgIV. It's a looker no doubt, and has decent mileage too.

All those who were arguing about price difference b/w Zma and Fz

            Delhi - Zma OTR = 75K
            FZ OTR = 70K

And maverick, I too bought my zma in the beginning of March. I spent a long time contemplating between Fz and Zma. There's a useful thread too that i started regarding the same on What Bike - It's 100 percent - Got Zma

Maverick's reasoning and mine matches a lot. Why go for Fz when I get the best budget sports tourer, Honda mill, +73cc, +more power and torque, +kick start as well, I think the price difference is worth EVERY penny.

If the FZ had been 65-67K, i'd bought it with my eyes and brains shut. Good machine, gr8 styling, and overpriced is what it is right now.

And yeah maverick, I too develop a big smirk seeing FZs on road.
