Moral of the story: don't lug in the low rpm range for too long, you want to set the engine, let it set in all conditions that it is supposed to be running in.

Ok.... I ll make sure that I don’t ride in low rpm till I reach 1000 kms ....

Will follow your advice. Thank you sir

Bro, don't worry. Just keep the rpm as recommend by Yamaha and keep varying the rpm, don't keep constant speed for long time.

Varying the rpm helps the break-in. And yeah once in a while, push the rpm for a very short time. You'll get to know at a particular rpm at which suddenly engine feels choked/vibey or something. You'll realise it once you hit that rpm, that's the threshold, it should be the max you push the engine. Stay at that rpm for like 10-30 seconds then let the rpm fall and again take it to the threshold. This way you're pushing the engine to break-in at that rpm. I'd suggest not pushing it beyond that rpm. And even in daily riding, you can push max upto that rpm for a very short period on case you have to speed up really fast, but don't do that often.

I bought P220 in Nov'18, and I had kept a mental threshold at 4.5k. after first service I pushed it and the threshold was at 6k, slowly it increased.

Also, I'd like to add that warm up is a good deal, just warm up bike for 1-2 mins before riding and meanwhile you can take a cleaning cloth and remove the dust, so it serves 2 purposes.

While your engine is new and the piston kit is still setting in, it's not supposed to cause issues. I'd suggest you take it to service centre.
Oh btw, very important, don't always keep a very low rpm, that's not good for a new engine. What's the maximum rpm you've touched? You crossed 300 km now.

Little to tell about my self ... I am hearing impaired guy , I can hear sounds with help of hearing aids . It’s difficult for me to hear the engine sound of my bike when I am riding the bike because too much of sound here and there in the city .. I can feel the vibrating engine , tat is wat I am trying to tell you all here. I have test ridden Honda’s yamahas ... they were butter smooth ... n Looked as if I was with same P150 when I rode R15s for the first time ... since you ppl have told me not to worry ! I am very happy that you guys are helping me a lot !!!

My apologies brother. I didn't wanna pull that out. Tell you what though. An R15's engine is one that I'm almost jealous of. You got a good machine and the machine got a caring rider. Thumbs up for you!

Don't you worry bro, it's a really good bike you got. Just wait for the break-in period to complete, you'll have better refinement then.

BTW, VJ has explained about break-in in his thread

Re: New bike after owning P150

Yesterday I got a call from the showroom dealer !!! They told me that the first service would be done on 26th April . Hardly 10 days more . The ODO shows 350 km . By next week it would be nearly 500 ! But in manual it says for 1st service , 1000 kms or 30 days from the date of purchase of motorcycle whichever is earlier . I have received my bike on 2nd April ! Am pretty surprised why they called me early 1st service in 22 days gap ! I told them tat I haven’t completed 1000 km n I ll let them know whether I can give the bike for service on 26th.
                        Have some doubts
Will it affect the performance of the bike and engine roughness sorted out in this meagre kms run !

You have the right to get a free service as long as you haven't crossed the 30 days' mark but really take the bike out for a longer ride and let the engine sit properly. Clock as many KM's as you can (not 1000) before you go for a service.
                          1. Utilise the weekend for a long ride.
                          2. Confirm the exact service date with dealer, if need be write to Yamaha later.
                          3. It won't affect performance per se but as per Yamaha you better run more before that oil change happens.

Tip: I got a Bajaj care app, after first service early March, the bill I received confirmed second service to be done by June which was incorrect, I downloaded the app and it got me the correct date for October '19 for second service. See if there's something like that available.

                          Happy riding

Don't give 2 shits to what they say. Just tell them, as per your manual you'll go for service at the designated interval, and if they call you again, you'll contact Yamaha Service Deptt to complain.
