I never said it was bad...I've just done some drags on my friend's R15 and never ridden it for a long time and actually don't know how it feels for real and I did write this"(I honestly don't know how it feels since I haven't actually commuted on one till now)"...doesn't that explain quite a few things?......and i dont want to be an armchair critic here

As far as my opinion on R15 is concerned, there is no better track bike in India but it takes a toll on your back while touring.

      Test drive and choose wisely
I do more than 800kms a week on R15, it's been 5 months since i have own her, and she has already done 21000+ Kms on odo. I have done touring on her and the longest stretch was from baroda to Mahabaleshwar (hill station) = 800Kms (one side), my height is 5 feet 10 inches and i weight 65 Kg. To be honest, i have no issues with the seating position, yes wrist pain was there, but that doesn't last long, once you are habbituated (in my case it took initial 15-20 days afterwards it was fine and dandy)

Anyway, doing 110km/hr + is a child's play on this bike, braking is top notch (beware brake pad don't last long, in my case i had to change it at 15000 kms.) But as suggested by everyone testdrive both the bikes. Though, in my opinion, test driving a R15 will never give you a clear picture. My think about R15 changed after i had done 5000 kms.
My thoughts are subjected to personal experiences/internet articles. Please read my comment carefully before replying. :)

dude...r15 is a great bike...but in reality it kinda sucks in traffic...wrt p220...the handling of p220 with its new compound tyres is very similar to fz...i used to have an fz and now own a p220 dtsi with 2200 kms on odo ready for 2nd service...the gearbox is just super and all the previous problems of pulsars are rectified in the new version...the lights of 220 are awesome for touring.

the r15 is a track tool...its just super at cornering and handling abilities...but if u are above 5'10 this aint the bike for u mate...cause the tank grooves wont fit your legs.and maneuvering in traffic is hell with r15 compared to 220.
btw the mileage factor if you are looking is awesome in 220 too..am getting around 50 along with 3 of my other friends who bought the 220 with me if driven sanely...if at high rpms you get around 40...obviously proper run in should be maintained to attain such figures...

so if you want an overall bike which includes city traffic cutting and highway touring...go for 220

            if you are of 5'10 height,want a track tool,go for r15

Hyd Biker...some pop corns please !

a general info, I am 5' 11" who has happily belted 16000 kms in all since the launch date till day without any issues like ......etc...etc...etc...

15 is nothing to do with height unless you really tall enough like 6'3'' or so.

ok, last post here and no more from my side..this is it. BTW i like the p220i TV commercial.

Happy Independence day to all here.

i will suggest u to go in for the DTS-FI and not the 220 dts-i.
the dts-i sucks big time, engine refinement is not good compared to the dts-fi version!
also the DTS-FI makes the same torque at lower RPMs,it would be great if u go in for the 220 DTS-FI!
u evn get a 5 year warranty, the DTS-I tends to heat up fast, and has some false neutrals!

also the 220 DTS-I lacks the EXCLUSIVITY factor, cause the way 220 is written on the tail, and the pulsar 3d sticker is same as the 150 cc & 180cc!
any1 who just puts the fairing and the exhaust of the 220 DTS-I on the new pulsar 180cc no one can make out the differnce!

if you want PERFORMANCE,COMFORT,HANDLING,STLYE,LOOKS...go in for the PULSAR 220 DTS-FI,YAMAHA R15 OR wait for karizma.

BUT PLEASE DONT GO IN FOR THE 220 DTS-I,ITS COST SAVING,WITH ADDED REGRETS IN FUTURE!

Is it ? I dont think so..... DTSI tends to heat up fast because its new...every new engine does so..how old DTSI have you seen ? 1 months ? 2 months ?

Anyways my suggestion will be either R15 or new P220

I went for a test drive of both the P220 and the R15 today - The P220 feels bigger and a little difficult to handle than the R15 - I don't mean that the P220 is hard to handle - maybe it's just a bigger bike that needs more muscle to handle - on the R15 I felt like driving was more than easy - I did not ride both bikes at more than 50 Km/Hr - but I have finally decided - I will buy the R15 --- The P220 does not seem to be a beast I can control ... YET - I will stick to the R15 learn to ride it better and maybe move to the Ninja 250 later --- Thanks for all your input guys .

Both these bikes are performance bikes.. IMO you haven't had a feel of the machines coz you have ridden below 50kmph.. Would suggest you to test both the machines again, but at higher speeds before deciding between them.. Will give you a proper feel of whats in store..

The pleasure is when your rear wheel slides, and you bring it back; and when the front wheel lifts, you take your time bringing it back.

Yo! i said " I didn't find the R15's riding posture too comfy" that means i am not taking sides but frankly giving my opinion. I even PMed you when i was considering the R15 as a potential buy. So chill!!
And just to let you know that you contradict your own statements i have highlighted them.
And yeah i agree that for such bikes as R15 you cannot decide just by a small 2kms test drive but that is how most of us choose our bikes after these discussions; don't we?? if u fall in love with the bike in just those 2kms, buy it. Simple!
