. Great to see you add fuel to the flaming fire.
Come on guys, enough already.
Both are great bikes in their own respect. The pros and cons about both bikes are pretty clear. Request thread starter to post which bike he has bought and a good follow up first ride and ownership review.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe

Yeah rode the karizma and the p220 on the same trip, karizma was so comfortable that it put me to sleepOriginally posted by spiderweb View PostI wonder if you had ever owned a ZMA, or even ridden it
n How does a P220 keeps sumone awake on a highway n other bikes cant? it got a vibrator (under the seat) or sumthing!!!
P.S: Luv your bike n respect other bikes...

Ok on loud exhaust, partially ok on the seat but RVM are good on the new one, didn't feel vibes on the latest trip.Originally posted by HydBiker View Post^^^ I guess the loud exhaust, the bench seat, bad RVM's and some amount of vibrations aid to the task.
There you go, another VFM point in terms of safety for a P220... it keeps you awake and hence it is safer.
Come on guys... you people become 2nd grade kids when it comes to comparing bikes. As spider has put it - "love your bike and respect other bikes".

Riding for 30-40 kms would not be feasible for me. My friend own a Zma-r so I get to ride his machine, no problem. But no one in my friends circle own a 220, and the showroom pals not even allow to take it to highway to test it at 90+ which is about half an hour drive away.Originally posted by prafultripathy View PostRide both bikes for about 30-40kms to get a feel of both. Decide on what your heart tells you to buy. Both are fantastic bikes in their own right!
The main reason for not including a R15 is because of tight budget. I am a college student doing B-Tech in computer, for me my parents is paying for the machine, and I was told not to go beyond 1 lac mark.Originally posted by srini View PostI'm amazed how R15 didnt make it your list since it has pretty much everything you're asking for..

Dear niranjanvaidya,Originally posted by niranjanvaidya View PostMy sincere advise to you would be to buy a ZMA-R since you have already quoted your dislike for the Pulsar; why even think of a bike that you do not like?
You are correct on the point that if someone don't like something than there's no good in thinking over it. I also believe more or less the same. But still I posted my thread. It was because the dislike was for looks and not its performance. Looks is something with which one can get bored(or can get used to it) but not with the performance.

Dear inder,
It was natural to think like this as I was not actively replying here. (Just posted my requirement, started the thread and 'PUFF' disappeared.) But the fact is that I was reading every comment, it was not the case and will never be the case, that I was not bothering over the suggested opinions. Everyone is contributing to the best of there knowledge and experience, so I respect every suggestion posted here.
I thank all of you people for replying to my post, sharing with me your knowledge and more valuable experience. Actually I was expecting to have about 20 replies but it was wonderful to see 50+ replies. You people are really very keen to help others for which i am grateful. The information and suggestions is very helpful to me in making the final decision. I found that many people here suggested me to go for Zma. Whereas, 220 is suggested by even more number of people here. I think its because the 220 is really a VFM machine. Yes, it is technologically new also. I think a 220 has a lot more to offer than a Zma (if we consider even the smallest features) which include more power, torque, led tail lights, clip-on handle bar, tubeless tyre, larger fork width, projector headlamp, maintenance free battery, top speed, 3d chiseled logo, gas shocks, digi-speedo, rear disc, piston coating and more importantly India's largest carb. But no bike is perfect, so it come to my knowledge that a 220 has some vibration issues at 90+ speed, reliability and handling issue also. I came to know that the 220 engine also has the typical pulsar characteristics though less, which is vibes at higher revs. But at the end I believe that a 220 is 'The King'.
About Zma - 'The Queen'. I came to know that Zma's engine is refined, with no vibration though 3 bhp less power should be noticeable. There is a little difference in torque between the two (about 18.3 for Zma and 19.1 for 220). Also I found no issues with Karizma. So I think it is good today also. I don't think that the features which 220 offer's is considerably factors in choosing a machine. Like a HL can be modified, tyres can be replaced with tubeless one, or clip on handle bar can we installed. For me the main factor's in choosing a bike is its engine quality and refinement, comfort and reliability.
So at the end, Zma tops over Engine refinement, looks, reliability, Comfort, low maintenance. (as I think the 220 needs to be tightly maintained to keep it away from vibes, if I am not wrong.)
Whereas a 220 packs power, features, and Tech.
So I think I don't have any valid reason to say No to Zma. So at least for now I am tilted towards Zma. Don't know, but the final decision is still to make.

@LIBRan: Don't make your decision to buy a bike by just seeing the specs on paper and what reviews you get to hear.
Make a decision only after you have ridden both the bikes. I was also in your state of dilemma and had the same thought process 2 years back.....one test ride changed everything!
There are thousands of xbhpians all over the world, im sure there would be some in your city who would let you ride their bikes!

@LIBran: Though am emotionally tilted towards ZMA a bit, I know the fact that its an old machine with outdated stuff, but still yet reliable & perfect.
On the other hand, P220 is quite equipped with almost tempting features n stuff, n got a world wide Indian following.
Where the looks are concerned, yes ZMA still got some beauty, yet to be beaten.
If I were you I would have made my choice: A black P220 Fastest Indian wala, if I was a pulsar fan.
n if I was not, then I would have gone for Apache RTR180, a machine that I truly call Ingenious...
the CHOICE is yours my friend. As praful said, test ride the bikes n make ur decision.
After-all its all about luv at first sight...

.But that's me anyways...Zma is still "the" bike to buy.Have a TD of both the bikes and make your choice...

If these are my priorities, then I would have gone for the ZMA.Originally posted by LiBran View Post... For me the main factor's in choosing a bike is its engine quality and refinement, comfort and reliability.
A very well versed post there, LiBran. But I still suggest, like most others here, that it is always good to ride both bikes for around 20 kms back to back to know the difference. There is a certain connection that you make after such rides, and things will be suddenly more clearer to you as to which bike you want. Both the bikes ride very differently. So a ride is what will clear your confusion.DoN\'t LivE tO DiE, dIe tO LiVe
