I have booked new black R15,but would keep an eye on the new karizma too.

And btw,can a newbie have problems riding a bike which has more power packed in higher rpms(or a narrow powerband bike)?
Am i right in my decision of R15? Please tell this along with valid reasons? Is R15 low-end pull that bad or is it very bad to ride in cities?

    {NO BRAND-WARS & BIASED-NESS plz.}
    Biking- A Pure BLISS !

    My bikes-
    Yamaha R15 V2 LE (Current)
    Honda Aviator Disc (Current)
    Pulsar 220 dts-i 2009 (Sold)
    Hero Pleasure (Sold)

infact consider yourself lucky that you have started your biking carrier where you had a choice of "proper motorcycle" R15...

we started our biking with RTZ,RX's...
those were good bikes too, but nowhere good as the R15...

the R15 has power which comes at the higher Rpm but not like which will surprise and scare you (like the K9 or the R6)...
all you'll be having is the 'power' above 6000 in R15 which will make you feel like "yes!!! the bike is now in its powerband"...

and R15 by no means is a narrow powerband bike....SHOWGUN was.

mark my words buddy, you'll never ever regeret your decision with R15...
and like i said consider your self lucky with u having it.

the R15 is not much fun puttring around the city and you have to keep it in one gear low than normal but once you'll get the open road you'll get to know what R15 and YAMAHA is all about....

      BTW congrats on your booking

          remember it has 6 speeds....
keep it in 2 and 3 gears and you'll never ever feel like it's running outta power, and bhopal is very open man, you wont be havin' that much traffic there as compared to INDORE!!!!

i drove around in BHOPAL and the roads there calls R15 in loud as they're full of twieties, and you've good straights there too...

perfect to test that monoshock, deltabox frame, sticky tyres, and that 4 valve head....

What abt. the race-kits and accessories, can any r15 owner help me in this?

              Forget the race kits..
It costs 51,000 Indian national rupee!
I hope thats a huge amount for u!

              Go for..
              1. tank protector pad
              2. Rear seat cowl ( easy to put and remove, enhances the look, decreases one seat in bike )
              3. Led pilot

              Thats all..
Except that take the accessories pamplet from the dealer everything is mentioned there along with quoted price!
              Choose among those..

And stop cribbling about "low end torque" like kids..
In all ur posts i hav seen the same word! Irritating..
On Anyday anytime anyroad R15 acceleration is much MUCH muCH better than RTR 160(not efi), CBZ, CBZ XTREME, P150,P180,Unicorn,Hunk and any other 150cc bike..
Just stay in correct gears and by no means any P220 or RTR 180 or RTR 160Efi can leave u behind..
U just have to stay in correct gears!
And then see your R Doing wonders in traffic!

Lol stop deciding what other people can buy or not. That's his money and the decision is really upto him. Advice him for sure but let him decide what's a huge amount or not.

@Aditya: Firstly congrats on booking the R15. I am sure you will never regret this decision. As for riding in the city i am sure Bhopal is pretty spaced out and not hectic as mumbai. I have had no issues with riding the R15 in mumbai traffic so i suppose you shouldn't have much issues either. R15 issues riding in traffic are myths at best. Most r15 owners will tell you that...

About race-kit,i would think later if it is a legal one. If it is,i may buy it after 6-8 months of use(of bike).
Thanks guys for ur inputs! Its final now-R15 with racing black(midnight-black).
Is yamaha providing LEDs for brake-lights or do they have plan in future for it? I have recently heard that a new surprise is coming from yamaha stable this diwali maybe an upgraded R15! Is it true?

And yeah..... later on when you feel the bike lacks the power and speed, instead of buying a race kit.... i'd suggest you go to Joel.... although i don't know him personally, he has done some fantastic work on his R15..... you could do that if you want to.... but later on....not now

I have been hearing from many that a new face-lifted R15 is coming this diwali. Can anyone shade some light on this?

if u keep waiting for new arrivals everytime then u wont be able to buy a bike, if u wont be able to buy a bike u wont be able to ride, if u wont be able to ride ur bike then u wont be able to enjoy life . so dont think soo much besides that R15 just had a facelift i dont think it will be upgraded more this year.

                                Probebly Thats a Fz250 or R125..

Dude R series never have facelifts!
They have Yearly upgrade of the same segment..
                                Like 09 model,08model etc!
Or if done more there are limited edition paint jobs or new paint schemes.
If there's another R cmin it would be surely a whole new R(xxx) model (e.g. R125 or R20 or R25 etc) insted of facelifted R15.
                                Hope u understood!
