Couldnt resist to appreciate this lovely sentence!

And I totally agree with Saravjit
    statment..
Tech wise nothing even touches the tail of R15, Liquid Cooling capabilities are undoubtly superb and unquestioned.

Mono shock is okay at times and acts very good at most of the time, still if you have a Sour back then try a rough road TD before buying it.

And about looks, if you are happy with her looks then who else damn care how your bike looks in between ur legs? Isnt it..

TDing postponed again to tomorrow. I'm actually starting to hate this job.

Guys, i had a horrible thought today. Imagine a guy in full formals, nice polished shiny shoes, a side slung bag, riding a R15 to work. Just horrible!

Anyway, i went through the 'improvements' of the ZMR again, and decided its just not worth it. Eve if i'm gonna get a Karizma, its going to be a ZMA-R, because i feel its price is more justified than the ZMR's.

Now thats a very difficult choice. I personally feel the blue one looks the best.

Seems when the R1 and R15 were first introduced in India, the A.S.S. picked up quite a bit. Some people even commented it has become the best. Looks like Yamaha has gone back to its old ways.

So you wanna ride a CD dawn/joy to work or something? (no offense to owners of that good bike, i learnt geared bike riding on it).

If you ask me, get a proper bag which is balanced and not slung to a side .. as you'll have to get used to the riding position properly. Also, if ppl see you on an R15, they might think that "Oh this guy has a dark side..better not mess with him" or something. If you finally do decide on the R15, go for the black, it's the most subtle of the lot. Or you can go for yellow and turn heads wherever you go, it's a natural eye magnet, that colour combo.

Oh btw, when you DO go for your TD, please don't come back and post here unless you've gone to the higher end of the rpm band (~9-10k rpm)

Only one snag I see, you mentioned that you ride over bad roads regularly, I'm quite sure that the other bikes you've mentioned are more comfortable than the R15 on such terrain, especially ZMA-R and ZMR.

That description is also of a guy like me, only difference is I use a backpack.
The other side is seeing the same guy in full riding gear on a highway on weekends!

That said, its your bike&the way you carry yourself on it that matters. I don't bother about what others think. Some even wonder why I got a single seater bike made (mine mostly always has the single seat cowl on)!

The advantage of having an R15 is you are so immersed&enjoying your riding, that you become oblivious to the surroundings (I remember Ken Da's thread where he used to just forget the world listening to the idling sound of his R1). You will get used to a few noob comments like: "Sab accha diya, sirf tyre mein maar kha gaya" etc.

The bike is yours, love it&ride it for yourself.

I tried a friend's FZ today. Nice bike. Pretty lightweight. I didn't feel as uncomfortable as i thought i'd feel on light bikes. The lightweightedness makes it easy to weave through traffic. Rode it in medium-heavy traffic and it was great. Shocks were good. Though i dont have enough experience to compare it with other bikes, i felt it was a bit on the harder side. I guess you guys will be a better judge. Road grip was good (and no wonder, seeing that back tire).
Back brake was a bit sluggish (but my friend swore it is one of the best brakes). The front brake was also softer compared to a friend's pulsar i rode. Though i think it'll do its job well enough when needed. The engine also felt reluctant, too slow to accelerate. Maybe it is because of the shift from 27 Nm to 14Nm. I'm not sure. I remembered TnT's words and tried revving up the the bike, but i didnt feel any power surge from the FZ. Perhaps it applies only to the R15. My friend said he has hit 120 Kmph on that bike and that it was very stable. I dont doubt it.
                      Seems mileage is around 35-40.
On the looks dept, it was a blue white combo, some limited edition thing. It looked great. But it looked too aggressive for my tastes.

I SO wish you could ride my r15 right now.

FZ is a good bike, city warrior, its got its torque lower in the power band so you probably wouldn't have felt any 'surge' when you revved it. FZ and R15 are built differently meant to be ridden differently.

R15 has got it's peak torque higher up in the band (8500 rpm), the power builds till that peak and starts tapering off towards the end of the band (10500rpm redline). This building of power can be felt from 6.5-7k rpm onwards.

By the way, I voted for HH ZMA-R in the poll. I feel it will be most comfortable for you. You need to ride and decide if the relatively harder suspension in the R15 is worth all the performance, tech and adrenaline rush you get over the ZMA. No point in discussing further till you've test ridden all that you've shortlisted, sadly we can only tell you so much..

Where IS the peak torque for FZ? Because i tried slowly increasing the throttle, but didn't feel any difference in acceleration. (Or i'm doing it the wrong way)

In my bike, (RE Machismo), the peak torque is on the lower end in the power band. And as i rev higher, the power flattens out. In the FZ's case, i didn't feel anything anywhere. On the Machismo, i can literally feel it dragging me along in the peak torque zone.

And about the Karizmas, is the placement of the foot pegs normal? Because i found myself treading air quite a few times on the FZ and had to look down to find it. I was missing it by almost a foot.

Whoa! Even my friend was talking about the same thing today. And i found its become pretty rare in chennai. Its been 3 weeks since i spotted one. But it may be due to my strange work timings too.

Today, after office, i struck out to find a showroom to get a TD. But couldn't find any. Finally on the way back, i spotted a Hero Honda showroom. ZMRs were displayed there. Saw one in the flesh just today. It looks AWESOME! My jaw dropped when i saw it. I looks a bit odd at a certain angle (and sadly, thats the very angle the HH guys are displaying the bike from.) but it looks just awesome from every other angle. It looks like a mini ship, with all the fairing and stuff. Some one commented that the rear looks too small compared to the front. But i felt it was just right. Any bigger, and it would've looked like something with a fat *you-know-what*. And i'm not sure if the showrooms guys were being sarcastic, but they'd displayed a ZMA-R and a HH Glamour along with the ZMRs. The ZMA-R looked paltry and dehydrated in front of the ZMR. There was a white, blue, and black ZMR displayed. The white one looked like a SBK (looked), the blue one looked a bit subdued and normal, and the black one was like a killer, very aggressive. Even my friend, who was totally against the ZMR, was impressed.
And for anyone who thinks i'm exaggerating, i suggest them to go and see it in the flesh.
But the showroom people said they dont give out test drives and especially not that bike, because it has not yet got approval. And another piece of sad news, seems booking starts only from next month and it'll take 3 months () for it to be delivered.

Seems it'll cost Rs.1,02,000 on road in Chennai.

I tried to spot a Yamaha showroom on the way back, but couldn't find any. And i was too tired to go out of my way to find one. I decided i would look tomorrow.
