I am planning to take my first bike. Considered Fazer and Apache RTR fi 160. Read my post on both bikes in xbhp and across internet and finally confused. But any cost i want to book my first ever bike within this week. I hope you guys help me.
I am totally impressed with Fazer. Almost every aspect. But little worried about city ride handling and mileage, in fact major factor making me thinking about Apache RTR 160 FI. Please help me taking by bike.
    Thanks In advance,
    Pradeep
As you say you're already impressed with the Fazer, put your doubts aside and go for it.
Every day I have the choice of using either Yamaha FZ16 or TVS Apache RTR-160Fi , I find myself going for the FZ16.
City Ride & Handling - FZ beats the Apache hands down! (esp. riding stance comfort and maneuverability)
Mileage - RTR (Holds no relevance to me as the difference is a negligible amount of 4Lt per month = Rs180)

    Price (OTR Pune)
    FZ16 - Rs73000
    RTR-160Fi - Rs77500

    Torque
    FZ16 - 13.6 Nm
    RTR-160Fi - 13.1 Nm

    Kerb Weight
    FZ16 - 136Kg
    RTR-160Fi - 136Kg

    Efficiency
    FZ16 - 43.5Km/Liter
    RTR-160Fi - 55Km/Liter

    0-60Km/h
    FZ16 - 5.51sec
    RTR-160Fi - 5.56sec

    Refer
    Yamaha FZ16
    Apache RTR 160 EFi

        Just adding my 2 cents.
The Fazer is simply too refined to ride around. [I have not taken any ride on a Pulsar 220, but, a lot on 150, 180 as well as 200cc Pulsars.] I used to ride my friend's P200 sometimes. But, once I bought my Fazer, the P200 handles like a cycle! There seems to be no ergonomics, and the stability that the Fazer provides, it gives you a lot more confidence in cornering, braking, etc compared to the P200.

right Fazer is extremely refined..but the problem is fazer is powered by same FZ's engine so according to me there is no point to spend that extra amount for a same bike excluding the front portion..n fazer is little slower than FZs due to a lil over-weight...

apaches are good only if you are comfortable with the riding position..

but at the end of the day my friend buy something that u like that is what my opinion says
It's the "CHOICES,"that make us "WHO WE ARE"

I had the same confusion 2 months before. I took test ride both the bikes. Finally i found that FZS is the Best bike in all the aspects except Fuel economy(43) when compared to RTR FI(52) and price.

RTR is too tiny when you are on the bike but FZ will give you extreme level comfort!

RTR Vibes but FZ doesn't vibes, even in 110kmph.

Road Safety Assured with FZ but rtr tyres are bit scary.

Go For Testride and go with your heart... All the Best

Go ahead with a Fazer dude if you dont worry about the mileage part, You are definately going to enjoy the smooth and vibration free drive.... Abt looks do i need to say any thing , it has got massive road presence, will even catch the attention of the sexiest eyes around

And who cares to compare it with a 220CC, they are altogether a different class, If your priority is Top speed then my friend you are into a wrong zone, go ahead with a ZMR or P220

We should not say Fazer is not worth 80K+. Thou it is way underpowered than other bikes in the same price tag but the exceptional international styling is exclusively limited to itself only.

Performance wise its highly overprised, but the styling and appeal it has got make it worth for it.

Agree and every unique product ask for a premium in the pricing until it has to face competition..... And here we are paying the premium for the design and the quality
