    Hi Everybody,

I'm Amar from the city with the worst roads and highest road tax: Bangalore!!

I used to be a biker till I turned to cars. Now, the new set of bikes available to Indian riders have re-kindled the biker in me. I have been glossing over reviews and modification threads for a long time and now feel I should also start contributing and networking with the great folks here.

    Cheers,
    Amar.

Wow, but I haven't yet decided what bike to buy yet
Rest assured, I will join the very next G2G when I do decide and buy which should be within the coming week. Unless of course I get the TBTS 500, which would mean I will join the folks next year!. Unless of course, you can let me drive in my car as a support vehicle..

The condition of the roads has become a very important parameter in deciding what bike I wish to ride. That and my rather large weight (100kg) and tall body (6'1") have made it difficult to choose a comfy bike.

As a diehard Enfield fan I would say go for Royal Enfield. Ok on a serious note, considering the road condition, your weight and height I think Thunderbird 350/500 or Classic 350/500 can be a good option

So glad to know of another fellow rider from the land of high road tax ... Welcome to xBhp Amar. Also glad that you rekindled the spark for biking... seriously... there is no other expression that is as unifying as romancing with the roads on your favorite ride (God moments). Anyway... come sept/oct I probably will head out on a solo South West India + NH 17 ride starting from Bangalore... pm me in case you're interested road running together.

                          Cheers mate.

The 500 is definitely a very strong contender for purchase, but there are only two things holding me back from buying it:
                            1. Maintenance : I have very poor maintenance skills, and use things to the brink of destruction before getting things back to order. Same for my car, I use it to the point that it almost falls apart, and then limp back to the garage to hear abuse from the mechs and get it repaired. Although, I keep the obvious things in order like critical systems: Tyre pressure, oil, brakes, etc etc. So, I don't know if I will be able to care for the 500 as "carefully" as one is supposed to care for her.
                            2. As an inpatient person, I don't know how long I can hold on and wait to get the bike. However, in defense of my patience; I did wait 6 months to get my car.
