What about the dispatch mail I got a few weeks back? Was that for namesake? :what:

It is said that no Art form is truly art without a critic criticizing it in earnest. The art of criticism is as old as art itself. I propose this thread to be a place to highlight aspects that we did not like about our magazine. We want this magazine to be the bikers’ bible not only for Indian Bikers but for Bikers all over the world. This would be the space where we tell the editorial team of the magazine, which is doing such wonderful work in putting together this magazine, places where they might have missed the mark and aspects we feel can be improved upon. The team is perhaps one of the very few in the world which is constantly in touch with its readers through this interactive site xbhp.com. If we point out the flaws in the magazine as we see them, I am sure we will have a constantly improving world class – XBHP.

        To set the ball rolling:
While I enjoyed reading the magazine a lot, I feel that there were too many Ladakh trips for one issue. One trip to one location for one issue is all I can digest, it tends to be monotonous after a while even if there are different bikes with different riders making the trip.
        Small Suggestion:
I bought the magazine today with DVD i.It would be better to have the speaker in the video to speak up in English commonly.Since i am basically from Chennai, and I find difficult to understand, when they speak up in Hindi. Moreover the magazine is distributed to whole India, so its better to have one language conversation.

          • Bought XBHP magazine few days back, the content in the dvd is pretty much same as in the magazine. So reading the magazine after watching the dvd was boring. There where no special feature, international content, DIYs or bike reviews.Felt like most of the content is aimed at supporting sponsors. Please improve next time.

Thanks for the feedback. The documentary was mostly in English. there were some instances where we spoke in Hindi, but that was just to maintain the spontaneity as sometimes the translation can really kill it. Though we agree, there could have been at least english subtitles. will be taken care of from next time.

This particular issue was a GIR special and was dedicated to this roadtrip, the bikers that were touched by it, and their emotions. It wasn't about the machines, but about the riders who tamed them. It was first such attempt in India and perhaps the entire world where an entire issue of the magazine is dedicated to its potential readers and only talks about them.

And it was one story said through 2 different mediums, print and A/V. Both these things complement each other.

A roadtrip of such a magnitude isn't possible without the support of these sponsors, so they definitely deserved a note of thanks through this magazine as they wholeheartedly supported the roadtrip and viewed it not just from a PoV of a corporate but also as somebody who is trying to understand today's biker. Besides that, a few ads here and there never hurt anybody and are essential to keep the momentum going.

              • Hi xBhp!
I've read every issue of your magazine to date, and I've enjoyed almost all of them. It is not easy to churn out quality content every 2 months and I have a lot of respect for the team.

I apologize for what I'm about to say; I'm not really impressed with the latest (i.e August 2012) issue.

The thing that does make the magazine worth a buy is the very detailed triplog of Mission Red Planet. Right from sponsorship info, to visa details, equipment carried, to the info on countries and roads, our respected Motographer has penned a nothing short of a masterpiece. Accompanied by his awesome photography style (especially the use of the 14mm wide angle lens), the triplog is a real treat, and I have read it countless times. Kudos, for also including shooting settings in some of the pics. Thanks for the poster too!

Now for the parts I did not like:
                1. The magazine relies too heavily on the Mission Red Planet article to carry it through.
                2. After reading such a brilliant piece, the rest of the magazine feels light, something like a half-baked cake.
                3. The Monsoon riding article was unnecessary. Its all been read before, as soon as I read the first two words "Liquid sunshine" I knew the rest.
                4. The writing style does need improvement. A magazine with world class look and feel, shouldn't have this as an issue. Of course, all articles are quoted from the writers exact words, but the editorial team could just go over them and make improvements. (I have plenty of free time these days, I can always volunteer to do the proof-reading )

Its just that when we Indians finally have a world-class motorcycling lifestyle mazine of our own, small niggles shouldn't bring it down.

So now, the anniversary issue is what we're all waiting for, and judging by the photos on facebook, the legendary S1000RR and Mini are going to be a prominent feature.

                Once again, cheers to xBhp!
