@Sunny/MODS: I have a doubt, in the magazine its mentioned that the seat height of Hyosung GT650R is 790mm (made me very excited as I am only 5.3"). But I can see the seat height mentioned in the Hyosung websites are as 830mm.

Can you please confirm which one is correct? Also I will be pleased if you could let me know the seat height of GT250R!!

    Thanks,

Got the dec issue of the Xbhp magazine..missed out on the oct issue so this is my first tryst with the mag....it is quite different from the rest of the automobile mags both in its content and especially in the presentation..in a very good way that is...its like a breath of fresh air...a lot of excellent pictures with text intermingled or overlapped...its very well designed...great work Sunny and the team..and keep the momentum going....
I loved those roadtrips especially...the pictures bring the beauty of those places before our eyes in their full glory..great camera work...though I have seen them in the xbhp website, having it on paper always gives a 'touch' better experience...

Reading the second issue. Photography is again unmatched, the writing is good (better proof reading this time) and I really love the DIY sections which are extremely useful.

The only problem I see is that with both issues dedicating so many pages to riding in the hills, the magazine runs the risk of turning (dare I say it) monotonous with each issue following the same formula - an international ride, several rides to the hills, a ride from the non-editorial xbhpians etc:

These are nascent days for the xbhp magazine and I am sure it will grown by leaps and bounds in future. Heres wishing the team all the best.

@neil: Thanks for the info Neil. I do understand what you mean by sticking to a formula. If you notice there are specialist magazines in the west that cater to either news, touring, cruisers or even just scooters. Not saying we are trying to emulate their formula, but we are saying that we see touring on bikes along with highlighting the biker is the main thing for us. We dont want to become a general motorcycling magazine by featuring news etc.

Also there are well defined sections which are on different subjects in the mag, viz:

                  Touring
xBiker (focussing on the biker and his achievements)
                  community rides
                  DIY
                  Hard Torque
xReviews (in which we review the bikes, but not just like that)
                  Photography
                  MAX: Safe Riding
Special features will be considered and done in the upcoming issues.

The immediate and first goal is to cement the fact, and make it well known: that xBhp magazine is a class apart from the other auto magazine in terms of creative execution, photography, rides, literature and most importantly the passion underlying its birth and sustenance.

@ Sunny, I appreciate the fact that the magazine is actively covering and promoting touring in India & hope that this inspires more xbhpians to step out, explore our wonderful country on 2 wheels and share their experiences with the rest of us. The end result speaks volumes for the effort that the editorial team has put in to bring out a magazine for bikers that covers all the different sections that you mentioned.

My only concern was that there seemed to be too much of an emphasis on riding to the hills. I, for one, would like to read more community rides (am sure the next issue will focus on the Kerala G2G) and DIY articles. Others would want an increased focus on other sections. Can you keep everyone happy ? Probably not.

My honest opinion is that the editorial team has done an astounding job of bringing out a magazine that is unmatched for its photography & design. The writers do have noticeably different styles which I like and the test rides do not follow the tried and tested point allocation for design and build, ride and handling, fuel efficiency, performance etc that we have been used to. I would say BSM still rules the roost when it comes to passionate writing but you guys are a close second (considering xbhp is a 2 issue old magazine, thats fantastic) and Im sure the gap will narrow as time goes by.

                    • Hello Sunny Sir

I feel that the language of the magazine should be more simpler.. Not everyone has Shakespere kinda English. Its like we have to keep a dictionary besides us to find the meaning of some Never unseen words

So try to make the language a little bit simpler so that its understood well by everyone..

Yes, we are working on it, but it will be a staggered release, meaning that the onine version will come a good 6 months or so later than the print version because it will be just like a packaged website if we do release it along with the offline version.

Sunny: The first magazine was fab. Unfortunately I cannot say the same about the second issue as I have not received it yet by the distribution agency in Delhi. I had to send them mails to get the first one after a long wait and I waited till today for the second one and have sent mails to Mr. Negi now.

The third one is going to be released soon and I am still waiting for the second one.

If you can take this up with I & S Communique it will be of great help as I don't know if its just me or others aswell. Thats the only feedback I have for now, rest all good.

                            All the best.

                            • @ Sunny - taken into account that your next magazine is gonna hit the stands in Feb 2011, but to be frank in pune city if you try searching for the magazine in landmark, crossword or any other place for the issue which is there in the market its not sold anywhere, Thanks to motocafe owner nikhil for which we xbhpian can atleast take a glimpse of the magazine, but if you want the magazine even to non xbhpains than i think the distribution strategy has to be reworked as the second issue was not seen anywhere after 15 days of its release in major magazine stores in pune which is quiet surprising.

Hope you look in the same.

@SUNNY.....i love ur mag...one suggestion though

~90% of the mag contains superbikes
                                plz include more INDIAN bikes.....

it's not like we are living the superbike world
everytime i read it....i feel like reading a fictional book
