It's cloudy here too Inder! Now I am desperately thinking to get a waterproof backpack. Any ideas which brand?

Unfortunately there is nothing called as a waterproof backpack (i mean for the Indian rains )... saala all end up being just water resistant!

How much luggage are you planning to store in the backpack... I like the Samsonite Hard shells, they are rugged and tough and water resistant

Get one DuckBack rain jacket..!! Its waterproof...!! Its really worth the money, it retails at 800(it includes the pants as well)...!! Tried and Tested stuff...!!

Points noted, thanks for the info guys! And I agree on the water-resistant observation. No matter what bag we carry the water always gets through! It's actually my papers and the cleaning cloths. If the papers get wet I am doomed. For now I have to wrap the file in multiple plastic bags so very little moisture gets through. And I am tired of carrying that blue gym-bag thing around - hurts my shoulder plates too.
