                      • Short ridelog + Crash report

Hmmmm...... a long hmmmm.... nice short log there Anup.... am a bit low.... sardi-khasi caught me I guess.... Pune ki hawaa ka asar Lol....

The ride was as always awesome.... but we missed that "no-casualty" ride status.. (sorry MG)... we took every precaution... even the ones that are not needed atall.... but then.... somehow or the other it happened.... I would term the casualty that happened with Nutrino today as pure riding "in-experience" + a bit of over-confidence.

Nice turnout.... and Mumbai guys reaching on time is like a big thing... or did the Pune guys arrive late ...lol...
all went well as planned... people riding "sanely". And everybody enjoyed that... seems like the posts about the safety thing we did really worked on everybody and it really helps when you are on highways. As Anup said... people seeing the bikes ... head turnings were huge... I was the sweeper (most of the time) and could see people seeing and counting the number of bikes , all in proper order. Proper co-ordination was the key thing in our ride today. With MotorB and Dragster leading the group, with Dragster riding just perfect and leading the group that was pretty big. The co-ordination was so good coz me and dragster have been riding together for too long now... and we actually know where to stop for other to catch up... so I was pretty sure that the group will stop at particular points, that was cool.

My experience was like big... morning Pune to Lonavala... riding with Niranjan/Inder/Ritwik/Naren was cool, all very experienced, felt just perfect, just no issues. See huge turnout from Mumbai.... chat at RKs (thats the best thing), all bikes parked at the basement parking there(wow I like the parking down there... bikes are safe and sound). Playing sweeper is real fun in the twists, going slow... with the R15 guy infront of me.... losing out on every corner(hes a new rider... very new just 1 month old )... and I was just praying... please brake soon, go slow... dont go past that car now... lol... he was saved many times, lucky. Amby intro thing was nice... with fullon timepass... and everybody participating equally.. I guess no newbie must have felt left out. Test rides on other bikes was good.... I tried R15's handling on long curves... the RTR Efi sounds good... but engine pull is sad ... power output seemed pretty low.. a normal RTR felt better...

The drags that we did, were pretty dangerous, but being mostly private roads it was cool. We had Sumit beating MotorB again on a 180 (this time it was his mighty V1... last time it was my V2 ).... sorry MotorB... cant halp saying that again an again.... hope one day you'll get skilled enough to beat a 180..lolz.. (btw that 180 V1 is too powerful even for my P220 ). While me and Shiva going head to head.. damn his ZMA is super dooper fast.

Going back was cool, group pics snapped should have come good.... with MotorB posing as always.... and now the crash report:

We started from Lion's point after the photoshoot and I stayed back to ride as the sweeper, everybody went ahead, so it was just Calvin, Neutrino and me..... Neu stopped to pee... so Calvin stopped... so did I... I told Calvin you go ahead we'll come... then Neu told me you go.. I'll catch up, I was like ok cool. But then something struck me......
Today morning when I woke up.. I was like shit.... have to get ready and go... and I suddenly had this thought... what if someone crashes today also ?? what extra precautions should we take ?? and one thing that came to my mind was "do not leave any unexperienced rider behind"...so I waited for Neu.... so we started and on the very second turn... I was very unaware that hes oversped already... and lost the corner angle (he mis-judged it bigtime)... and he just went and hit the railing.... the bike went up in the air... did a semi-360 degrees in the verticle angle... I was like f**k no....Neu was thrown off with such a huge force... he fell on the other side of the railings... I saw the bike... ok cool... its gone.. leave it... went to Neu... and shit I cud not hear a thing... realized that my mp3 was still on (on the lowest volume ofcourse)...stopped it at once, shouted on his face, asking if hes hurt, he said wait, I said ok. I told him to wait, tried to call someone, and hell, no network. Again asked Neu if hes feeling pain somewhere, he said no, so I was like ok cool, no major injuries as of now. But the way he was thrown off the bike was a sight, similar like Pedrosa was thrown off his bike in the recent MotoGP races when he was leading... it was bad. Then he got up and said, am ok, feel slight pain in the right side of the stomach, I said ok. Suddenty we saw this tempo wala waiting for us ... asked him and confirmed rates(Rs. 2200) for Bhandup(Neu stays there), got the bike in the tempo, and we started the ride double seat. Meanwhile, Neu was shaken to the core, he was asking me wierd questions like... have you ever had a crash like this... I was like touch wood no. Called Marcus and told him the story, hearing this Sumit started from RK Hotel (where everybody had stopped for Lunch).. Caught up with him, reached RKs, Neu went home in that tempo at the same time... Sadly.. this all happened, when we had forecasted this ride as a no-casualty, riding safety awareness thing..but then the crash happened in front of me ... I was shaken n stirred... I was like NO this is not happening.... I could not eat anything much at the restaurant too . Anyway.. it was good Neu was wearing proper riding gear (except knee guards).. so was saved from any major fractures or anything.
The major things on the bike that were visibile were.... the front mag-wheel ka rim broken off the spokes .. shit!! and a couple of other things... leg-guard, tank dents, tail light...grab rails...

We all left after having some butterscotch and chocobars... riding back was fun, with Anup riding the R15 and P200, and enjoying everybit of them, MotorB enjoying the R15 on highways.
Btw, we had a proper drag on Panvel bypass open streaches... R15 vs P220 (the most controversial thing ). with Sumit on Calvin's R15 (the best dragster in our group atleast ).. and me on my P220... he tried all the sort of things Killer/Joel mentioned on the R15 speedcheck threads, 7k launches, shift at 9-9.5k rpm, using minimum clutch action... all... but then.. its final from our side... the P220 has the punch.... pulls away rapidly. I did a 132kmph on P220... he did a 136kmph on R15. Ok am not boasting about P220... I really liked the way the R15 handles on highways and twists... one awesome machine.... I would only not go for it coz of its smallish looks.... rest all is just perfect. Even at 130+kmph... there were no vibes... while the P220 was like.... my body had a good massage . My next bike is a Yamaha period

                            • Great ride.Had good fun on the twisties at Amby Valley. The ride to and from Amby was nothing special. Simple brisk formation riding apart from a scary autorickshaw testing Ritwick's brakes well.

As for the test rides -
RTREfi - that exhaust note is great and the ride is more supple and kind with regards to vibes. Not much diff from my car RTR.
R15 - boy does it handle like a dream. And the way it jumps to the redline is just addictive. Lacks power though.
P220 - great top end and punch when compared to the other bikes. That 20bhp does make a difference but the first gear is just too short.
                              Amazing bikes all in all.

Nutreino's bike after the crash was quite a scary thing, broken rims and all. Hope you havent got urself something serious.

Had great fun and hope for more in upcoming G2Gs. Hopefully the rides will be when the Oct heat is not upon us.
