Guys i have ordered NGK Iridium IX Spark Plug for my bike from planetDSG... will get within a week...

if you guys remember several members showed interest in a thekkady ride while planning for a destination last month. but vattakottai ride proved to be the favourite choice. late next month the university exams begins. i ll be engaged for a month or so will be the case with all final year xbhpians
(rohit,aswin,fayad...etc). so what about a thekkady or munnar trip early april?

There is an association called 'IRON BUTT ASSOSIATION' IBA - World's Toughest Motorcycle Riders who certifies hardcore riders who completes their course.

But its designed for US only.

There are only two Indians who have finished their course that too because they could access the express highway.

For their minimum membership, we have to cover 1000mile ie 1600 Km in 24 hours. Its almost like impossible on Indian roads. Bcoz if we could ride 20Hrs out of 24Hrs, then we would have to have an average speed of 80Km/hr which is not possible.

I wonder if anyone can organize such an event in India with Indian speed limits and road conditions in mind....

I believe, if we can organize such a competition from the part of xbhp with the aid of some sponsors, it would be a large hit. May be we'll talk about this in our next meeting...

Man, a lot of xbhpians have successfully and unsucesfully competed in that from india itself. there are lot of threads in tourer section,and some other threads as well, i forgot where it is exactly. even last month one guy from vizag/hyd attempted it as the most preffered route for that is the roads from vizag to chennai and back coz its one of the best(better than what we saw in our tirunelveli ride). off late, i read in some thread that an xbhpian from delhi went for it and sadly failed by just a few minutes as he lost some precious time when his bike devoloped some probs en route. You can get any details of it from many experienced xbhpians. One thing i have to say is that never chose kerala roads for it as you will not finish in time

He hehe congrats I just completed 30,000 1year and 3 months wish to cross 1,00,000 before engine warranty void...

Thanks chetto, that guy in balaji helmet palace, blore also quoted 3800 first, then i showed him the pic of that helmet in my mobile taken at amba and said my friend got that for 3000. immediately he came to 3100 and i didnt bother to bargain further, as anywayz i wanted this. it was all over in less than 15 mins. the collection there is vast , even MG bought his sparx from there for 7.5k.... I enquired about dajiya there and with pune xbhpians, they said to stay away from it as only a few pieces before the company merger with marushin is there in some shops and you wont get any visors for it afterwards. more than 10 guys in pune are having dajiya and the CBR guy 'tenhut' is having the Marushin one.

He hehe, we need both ....but our main aim is to popularise the true biking spirit apart from mere competition. So many other organisations are there for that purpose

In my opinion, there is no need to popularise such a vast community .
any true biker will alwayz be one and almost all such are part of xbhp as well...

you could have got that from amba itself. i guess there wont be any price difference for that . its arounf 550bucks here.

guys help me out please.........my apache rtr 180 is returning very low mileage(below 35 kmpl) lately...it has done only 2500 odd kms...5 months old..done 2 services....used to deliver mileage in the 45 range in the first 4 months....dont know what is wrong.....what do you guys think......lijo chetta what do you think...?

wow...lots of discussions going on...sorry...kind of busy these days...college and some family issues...its time i got my oil changed to semi synth now...but still haven't decided which brand yet!! jayamohan chetta...suggestion please...

@bharath sudev: yeah man...i've heard about the iron butts association!! really longed to be one of a proud member since i've come to know about it...its actually doable in india if we've got the perfect ride and roads like the quadrilateral...24hrs...isn't much of an issue... hmm..lets see..

P.S: My ride clocked 7k in 5 months!!

well...the very first thing in my opinion to be checked is ur tire pressure...refill your rear tyre(front as well)...if that aint working, contact svc centre asap..

P220 need 1150ml engine oil for engine and exta oil cooling system. that means you have to buy 2x 1ltr bottles. well before going to fully synth u hve to get use of semi synth..Try valvoline semi synthetic blend 1ltr for Rs271/- It is gud but watch you will loose the smoothness within few days...then change to fully synth motul 15x50 300v. I have a half bottle of valvoline semi synth oil unused...if you buy 1ltr I am ready to give u half ltr for free Just go pongumood oil shop and ask for 1 ltr valvoline 4t premium synthetic blend(u can see ricky ponting certified sign infront of the bottle)

Aswin,dont worry...Bad fuel can affect mileage...try to maintain a gud petrol station for regular filling and just check your air filter cleaned and also the spark plugs...chain slackness should be rectified and always keep lubricated....if ths s not make any difference then go to your service centre and ask for carb adjustments

Well..following are some of the best fuel station in trivandurm

1. Petrol station near Coffe shop..kowdiar.

2. civil supplies corporation pumps at statue and near kanakakunnu.

3. Petrol station Opp st mary's school..Pattom.

4.Petrol station near QRS karamana

5.Petrol station near by PF Office gate..pattom.

Just check the mileage after filling from any of these reputed petrol pumb and see the difference..and also watch there r lot of gud pumps in trivandurm ths s for your quick reference
