I got more confused now with the choices!

Guys, I am in for it.

By the way, I feel it's time to prepare for my dream ride, ie. from Kanyakumari to Leh on bike. I am planning to do it in the beginning of next year during the final legs of winter. As of now, the trip will last for 20 days with an estimated budget of 50,000 per rider including all expenses. Petrol cost alone will be 20,000 assuming the cost to be 60Rs/L by that time. We can try for sponsors if there are enough riders. Once the preliminary plans are finalized I'll post it in other city threads to see any riders are ready for it. Especially from Chennai/Bangalore/Hyderabad/Pune/Mumbai. Ride will be done through the western India for safety reasons. If any one from Trivandrum is interested, please let me know so that we can plan together. Night ride will be avoided, with night holds at Bangalore, Mumbai, Ahmadabad, Delhi, Manali. We can take 2 days break at Mumbai & Delhi for repairs and to refresh our body. Accommodation cost at least in Bangalore, Mumbai & Delhi can be saved as we have friends there.

I know it is a rude and rough plan. But I'll proceed with it and make it happen.

Great man, I never expected something like this to come up, that too from our guys. Though lijo and others were planning a goa this year later, This one is a real blaster. Where are You LIJO!!??Tintu?

finally after a very long wait..i got my new lid.. vega shadow..2.6k..brought it from a shop at calicut.. they got good collection of cross ls2 and vega lids..and the price they are quoting is some 300 to 400 less than what i have been hearing otherwise....now ready for a ride with the new helmet..

Man, I'll call this a divine coincidence... just yesterday I was charting a map for the Leh ride.... Will share it with you.... yeah... I also expected a cost of around 50k. We'll talk about this next time we meet up...

actually i was also planning to get the ls2 white with red dragon lid...but they had only xl size of that...otherwise i had my bet on that itself... then the other option was this one...

If it is too short for everyone, we can plan it to March/April. But riding through North India during that time of year is a fact to be considered!

Wha! I shortened my dream which was exactly like this for 3 reasons.

1. Riding through Eastern India is risky - Naxels, Ulfas, less populated places..
2. Will take close to 2 months to complete it.
3. Expense will cross 50,000!

1 & 2 can be adjusted, but the 3rd one will be hard to ignore!

I agree about the 3 points... just expressing my dream.. hehe, for me a more than one month holiday will entail release from project and joining back... then when I join back, who knows if i'll be needed there...

BTW, I'm gonna go ahead with the DC conversion mod soon... anyone know any good autoelectricians in TVM???? I can get the coil rewinded etc, but need someones help is reconfiguring the lighting circuits from the DC supply...
