  • The agonizing wait continues

Today I went to Anton, and they said spares have not yet arrived. They are hoping it will come by Mon/Tue. . I asked them to replace the clutch engine-side lever and the plates if needed.
They have parked my bike in a corner and I've never seen it so dusty! This is a huge price to pay (including emotional) for a small mistake of overlooking an oil change...

Chettaa, my brother is a small Arnold Schwarzenegger type fellow. I am not going to get his punch on face. Fayad knows him well, both are childhood friends.

                          • things that could be made part of the road awareness program:
1.seminar on use and availability of quality riding gears apart from helmets(give people the contact info of auto queen and such stores that sell safety gear)
2.arrange a Q&A session(for public) with any reputed bike mechanic, where people can ask doubts regarding service issues and stuff.(most mechanics wont be rejecting an offer to do such a session as he is indirectly getting popularity)
                            3.helmet awareness seminar.
4.a seminar on the bikes that are going to get launched in 2011.if possible someone from honda show room can be invited to do a small presentation on the soon to be launched CBR 250. youth will find it interesting.
                            5.seminar on group riding etiquettes.

                            6. a power point presentation on the group rides conducted by tvm xbhp during the past 1 year including as much photos as possible.this could be used as a platform to encourage group riding among motorists.
7.if the programme is conducted at a place where there is sufficient space, various competitions can be organised , to pull in the crowd.for example ,a slalom competition can be organised. the guy who does the course in the least time can be given a small cash award.
                            more ideas will soon follow.

great suggestions friend. can you please introduce yourself here ?

i m also looking at something more than this like encouraging lane discipline, need of riding gears for bikers and changing the attitude of people towards riders wearing jacket, etc as some morons are looking at people riding with even good helmets as racers(even though changing this attitude is tough, we can try our best), some talk by a doc who has seen and treated people after accidents(even kannan can do it, if he accepts the offer ), etc... more suggestions welcomed.

                              • changing the attitude of people may not be that easy. the change should take place gradually through such awareness campaigns. one easy way to initiate such a change is to invite some one holding a respectful position in society, who is also a hard core biker, like some business man or a doctor or a high profile govt. employee,to speak to people about his passion for biking. that would make people aware that bikes are not toys in the hands of foolish boys but what real men could fall in love with, for life.
