If this is done over 2 days then it not be a meet in any sense

if taking a day off from work is the reason why cant we have the meet in Jan? I am sure the leave quotas will be renewed by then

But this is best if its a 3 day meet, 2 days means just ride IN and then ride OUT. With no time at all to meet!

Great Initiative Praful.
Absolutely, a 3 day ride, meeting everyone is more feasible rather than ride on day1, and come back on day2. The main purpose is to meet everybody and get to know each other.
@Kinshuk : I may also bring my wife, but that depends on the Accomodation, as in what we are getting there, and how many are turning up for this Grand Ride.
Lets hope for the best.

Don't know if anyone from Chennai is coming - but I am in - for second or last option. Am riding to Goa for the RM meet on Nov18-20th, so 1st week is too close for me. Likewise 3rd and 4th week too close for Christmas and New year, so only other option is sometime in Jan!
It will be a 5 day ride for Chennai and KL though!

Here are some facts .. about the place
I have been there for 4 years almost as my Engg i have finished near to Hampi [Hospet city which is 12km from Hampi]
1. Entire area is Mining area .. u see lot of Lorries and dusts
2. Hampi is not a single place its ruins spreads in a vast distance .. it will take months to cover all of them
3. The nearest good city is Hospet which is less than 15km away .. there u can find some nice hotels
4. there is a Dam in Hospet and every day evening there will be color light water show [good to spend some 15min]
5. there is some water sports near Sondur [name of place] which is less than 25km from Hampi ... u can have boating/banana ride/speed boat/ and some other water activity.
6. u can visit Jindal temple which is located near Jindal steel factory.
7. the entire area is dry place and lot of sun heat.
8. wear the white cloths in the morning and by evening its will be red color [even if u sit in office whole day]

I think GOVT has banned mining in bellary dist, so no dust and white clothes will be white........
If it turns red No Problem.........Surf excel Hai Na............

Hi...I voted for 10/11/12...as I am new to xbhp, I want to meet and know people's around. As this will be my first such ride with a group, please let me know the things I need to carry along with me.
