Hampi .. is good .. but still i prefer some place near to Kar-Andra border .. where lot of green is there than dry place .. a good road can easily make up for the extra distance .. anyone near kadapa or some place around that belt .. it seems green on Google Map

I would not mind riding a 100kms more to a destination with good roads than riding a 100kms less with bad stretches

Horsley Hills is 150 kms from Bangalore and around 520 from Hyderabad...

If you guys dont mind expanding your horizon of choices, I would suggest you guys to consider Ahobilam plus Belum Caves. The accommodation near Belum Caves is APTDC but only a dormitory but at 40/- per person, one need not worry about costs!!!
