So it's double-dhamaka then. Hope I get to at least rev one of them. :P

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Good to know that, Binoy! Sudeep, hope your manager is as kind as mine! I had to keep a lot of ice (convince) him to get the leaves.

              Cheers!

                      • Missed out on the pre-ride as I have been travelling the last few days. Just wanted to check if logistic details of the big ride (starting point / time of departure etc) for each city will be posted in this thread or in the respective individual city threads.

Agree. Not having seen any details yet, I was unsure if each city was doing their own thing separately or if it would be all posted here.

Seeing the names of all the confirmed riders, that old familiar pre tri state ride feeling is back. I'm sure some of the others wouldve done so already but anyways based on my lessons learnt from past rides, jotting down a couple of points for first time riders / old cronies who never improve

                            1. If you need to get your bike checked, right now is when you should do it. Do not collect it back from service the day before the ride. If something has been missed out during the service, it could lead to multiple headaches for you during the ride.
                            2. Pack and keep everything ready at least a day in advance. Try to avoid packing on the day of the ride as you will end up running around and searching for something that will invariably delay you and hence delay the start of the whole group.
                            3. Keep a paper / sms / note on your smart phone with the list of items that you have carried with you when you started the ride. Helps a lot when you are packing before returning from the hotel.
                            4. Make sure you know the start point / understand the way to the start point. It is better to leave your home early and be at the start point before time than to get delayed in traffic and holding up the group.
                            5. Carry water / Gatorade / Red Bull / whatever rocks your boat with you. That way the group wont have to stop within 15 minutes of starting to buy these essentials.
                            6. Ensure your papers are in order, they will be checked at the start. For the Wayanad ISG2G, we had to send back a member who had not renewed his bikes insurance.
                            7. Always ride within your comfort level. The group will only ride as fast as its slowest rider (slow not being a negative term here). If you feel some discomfort / dehydrated / need a break, signal the group and pull over. Dont push yourself just to keep up with the group.
                            8. Keep your phone charged sufficiently (both balance & battery) and have the list of contact details of your group with you.
                            9. Dont forget to have fun!

                            • That is fantastic list Neil!,

                              Adding my point.
As a biker we should be aware of limitations of our machines and electronic equipments.

It will be nice to carry your business card and a short list of important contacts written in a paper. This will help if the phone gives up or the battery dries out while you attempting to find your destination on googlemap (This point is much more important for guys like me - THE SOLO RIDERS).

                              @ Swas/Phanikar/Sriram/Praful,

When can I reach the earliest at the destination? I mean when will our organizing team reach Chika?

                              • Neil :- Thanks for pitching in.
@Kochumvk:- Bangalore group should be the first to reach CKR; ETA 1300hrs. (Phanikar, kindly correct if otherwise).

The essential details and important numbers were already in the display on the first page of this thread. One can make note of the same for this trip. I believe it's each location leader's responsibility to provide all the detailed information to the participants.

I had made a handout with essential information with regards to route and important contact numbers and it was distributed to Chennai participants. Though there were only few newbies, however, one should always have this handout with them and might come handy anytime.

Kindly see the handout attached. Let me take this opportunity to Thank Phanikar for giving detailed route information from Bangalore to CKR.
