I am in for the ride but since I have little experience on bikes and no experience in riding with a organised group,the ride before 'the ride' becomes all the more important!
I am riding as much as possible and logging in a lot of miles to gain experience,though

If you B'lore in the evening, by the time you reach Chickmagalur, it'll be almost late night... Won't it be difficult to locate the resort as there won't be even a single soul on the roads to give the directionsJust in case you are not able to start from Bangalore on 2nd morning, you can leave by evening and meet the group by the same night.
... Worse, even difficult for someone whose not familiar with the place to even let others know his position 
How about riding on 3rd early morning (4 AM or 5 AM) and reach the destination by 11-12 instead of late night ? If the number of ppl in this category is more, then maybe a new group is required here too

In order to avoid the confusion and further splitting the riding groups, it is wise to stick to the plan. i.e all participants starting on 2nd from Bangalore and reaching the resort. KL and TN riders will be starting on 2nd morning and expected to reach only in the evening. Since we have more than a month for the ride, won't that give room to apply leaves or make alternative arrangements?

Totally agree with you, have all the time in the world to plan... But there's something called Murphy's lawSince we have more than a month for the ride, won't that give room to apply leaves or make alternative arrangements?
